Video games have eclipsed the film, music and video industries as the dominant entertainment sector in the UK.  

Our course is designed to equip you for roles that require a vocational aptitude in gaming technologies and tools.

You will gain industry-relevant experience in using different game engines, such as Unity3D, Unreal, CryEngine and Godot. You will develop your skills in sound engineering and cross-platform development, such as Console, Mobile, Virtual and Augmented Reality.

Study a diverse range of practical, technologies-focused topics such as Audio for Games, Progressive Game Engines and Scripting and AI for Simulation, and develop a comprehensive set of transferable skills that you can apply to the areas of games development that interest you the most. You will also have the opportunity to make a short game using an engine of your choice.

You will develop skills in linguistic analysis and your own abilities to use language adeptly and appropriately in any potential context. You will select a specialist area of study from diverse options, ranging from retail, museum and exhibition, and product design, to interior, footwear, visual communication, and design innovation. Learn to devise creative solutions to complex issues surrounding sustainability and explore the role of design and innovation as a driver for change.

The opportunity to work on live projects will enhance your professional portfolio, and you will complete an individual major project (either creative practice based or research focused) which runs throughout the course, drawing on the professional expertise and specialist knowledge of our academics.

Our Intelligent Systems MSc provides you with knowledge of the various models of computational intelligence, an insight into their theoretical basis, and the skills to apply the associated techniques to a wide variety of industry problems.
