You will:

• Work on live projects with brands such as Fred Perry and John Lewis.
• Collaborate with photographers, designers and creators.
• Gain valuable experience through an optional placement year in industry (during the four-year course).
• Graduate from a course accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

After establishing a firm foundation in developing software and hardware, you'll apply your skills to both individual projects and major collaborations. We'll provide you with exciting opportunities to bring your ideas to life by designing engaging human-robot interactions and working prototypes.

You will:

• Apply your skills to inspiring projects spanning creative and technical domains, on briefs set by industry partners
• Build robots that interact with people and environments in novel and interesting ways
• Develop an understanding of the environmental, societal and cultural context for robotics and the implications for the design, engineering, deployment and adoption of robotic technologies
• Implement robotic systems that leverage state-of-the-art artificial intelligence
• Obtain a mastery of programming and physical fabrication by working on practical problems in a bespoke social robotics lab

You can choose a pathway in 2D, 3D or stop-motion and develop your own specialism, be that as a director, producer, animator, rigger, texture, concept or background artist. The course has a strong focus on teamwork, the perfect platform for a successful career in animation for film, TV and games.

You will:

• Study as part of a CILECT (The International Association of Film and Television Schools) film school
• Learn from staff with industry backgrounds and experience in film, children's TV, advertising and post-production
• Work in multi-skilled teams, reflecting industry practice
• Identify your strengths and develop your technical and creative knowledge through character animation, storytelling, concept
  art and software
• Hone your skills in stop motion and Computer Generated (CG) animation, working in professional-standard facilities
• Underpin your creative work with theoretical and historical understanding
• Gain a working knowledge of industry practice
• Graduate with a varied and professional portfolio

Working at an industry level, you’ll research, experiment and innovate to build a unique creative portfolio in a collaborative environment. Underpinning your practice will be a grounding in the history, theory, professional contexts and working practices of photography.  

 You will:

• Learn actively through workshop-based teaching, with sessions in our open-plan Learning Hub, around the campus and beyond. 
• Access state-of-the-art facilities, including studios and dark rooms, with a range of digital and analogue cameras. 
• Exhibit your work and enter competitions with support from our staff. 
• Have the chance to undertake at least two weeks of work experience in your second year, with options for local, national and international placements. 
• Benefit from a range of opportunities for professional development, including publishing magazines, curating events and organising exhibitions. 

While you learn, you’ll be able to put these skills to the test on live projects with industry partners, creating technology with a purpose. By the time you graduate, you’ll be equipped with the skills and knowledge to bring new and exciting technologies to a range of different industries.

If you're stylistically eclectic and keen to experiment, this is the course for you. Whether you aspire to be a performer, composer, session musician, music educator, sound artist or to work in a mixture of these disciplines, we'll offer an insight into the modern music industries.

You will:

• Learn to play in a range of musical styles and genres, in a variety of professional contexts.
• Play regularly in ensembles, including session bands, vocal groups, contemporary music groups and laptop orchestras
• Benefit from guest speaker artists and ensembles. Recent visitors include Adrian Utley (Portishead), Graham Fitkin (composer), Kenny Werner (pianist), Ed O'Brien (Radiohead) and Kevos (ensemble).
• Have the chance to gain industry experience through a three-month placement or internship, from shadowing a professional composer or interning with a record label, to working with a professional orchestra.
•     Have the opportunity to take advantage of our prestigious international exchange partners, including CalArts (USA), Griffith University (Australia), LASALLE (Singapore) and Nagoya University (Japan).

This course is underpinned by intensive practical and collaborative work. You’ll explore every aspect of the creative process, from devising individual performances to directing and producing work with others. As a reflective practitioner, you’ll test the theories you learn in lectures through your own work, research and performances. 

You will:

• Develop a knowledge and understanding of the entire fashion styling process, including a history of fashion and exploring the way that different cultural themes and issues are materialised in clothing and trends.
• Learn how to become a confident leader – managing teams and the expectations of senior crew and talent. 
• Learn self-management skills, such as budget control, scheduling and personal financial management as a freelance practitioner.
• Have access to facilities, such as industrial sewing machines and specialist construction equipment, our dye lab and our dress and textile archive, containing costume pieces from contemporary history.
