Midwives give care and advice to women and birthing people, and their families throughout pregnancy and the transition to parenthood. This essential role requires scientific knowledge, practical skills, interpersonal skills and empathy, which you'll gain on this course. This course offers a degree and a professional midwifery qualification. You'll graduate ready to enter the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and register as a qualified midwife.

Placements are available in maternity units in hospital and community settings.

Midwifery students not only have the use of the new Simulated Learning and Clinical Skills suite but have a dedicated Midwifery Skills space. This flexible learning space can be adapted to be a home-from-home or hospital environment, enabling students to gain confidence in a variety of settings.

Study this course and you'll become a registered learning disabilities nurse, ready to make a positive difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities. You'll study the factors that affect people's health and wellbeing, the health inequalities in our society and how we can improve health outcomes for people with a learning disability and autistic spectrum conditions (ASC).

You'll explore the management of complex conditions across the lifespan, from children to the older person and those with dementia, or other mental or physical health needs.

You'll gain hands-on experience in our award-winning simulation suite and develop your skills and confidence in caring for people by working with the famous Baked Bean Theatre Company.

You'll also have the opportunity to be a part of the wider Learning Disability Nursing UK and Eire network and can attend the Positive Choices Learning Disability Conference.

This course is designed for a small and enthusiastic cohort of students, where you'll benefit from individual learning and support. You will be taught by our dynamic teaching team which includes leading researchers and experts in Learning Disability nursing from practice and the Department of Health.

Placement providers include South West London and St George's Mental Health Trust, Surrey and Borders Partnership Trust, Great Ormond Street, The Children's Trust, and The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability.

This two year masters course is ideal for registered adult nurses who have already studied at degree level and wish to gain the knowledge and skills to register as midwives with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). You will study the midwifery profession and practice, research, biological science, social science, public health, law and ethics.

There is an emphasis on clinical skills teaching - more than half the course focuses on developing practical abilities. We aim to ensure your clinical placements reflect the modules you study, enabling you to integrate theory and practice.

Our Public Relations and Corporate Communications MA is a highly specialised and focussed programme designed for those who want to pursue a career in the broader field of corporate communications and public relations. This includes working for an agency or in-house for a company or organisation. Roles may include PR manager, internal/external communications or investor relations.

Over the course of the programme, you will learn to:

It aims to develop a range of musical and critical skills and knowledge; encourage initiative, creativity, critical evaluation and independence of thought; develop a systematic understanding of relevant musical knowledge and a critical awareness of contemporary issues; and provide knowledge of research practices, enabling you to undertake a substantial individual dissertation or composition project.

This Music Education MA course is designed to both broaden and refine the knowledge, teaching practices, and research skills of both current and prospective music educators.
