Behavioural decision science applies psychological insights into human behaviour to explain how, when, and why people make decisions.

This course, based in the Psychology Department, explores theory and research in behavioural decision science, and examines the application of psychology, behavioural science, and behavioural economics to policy, intervention, and behaviour change in areas such as health, finance, sustainability, and consumer behaviour.

You will gain psychological research methods skills, and critically examine theory and research in four areas of behavioural decision science: Cognitive Psychology, Judgement and Decision Making, Social Psychology, and Decision Neuroscience.

A placement module will build on your workplace or research skills and develop new skills that employers seek. The Behavioural Decision Science MSc prepares you for a variety of private and public sector jobs that require a core understanding of human behaviour and decision-making.

Are you a budding novelist, Netflix screenwriter or experimental poet? On this degree, you'll learn the art and craft of writing in all its forms. Taught by published authors, you'll gain a wide range of skills across creative and non-fiction genres. You'll examine how writing can be used to communicate in a range of contexts, with appropriate uses of style, register and form.

This degree has your future career in mind. It enables you to take the first steps to becoming a chartered psychologist. Your studies will be supported by purpose-built research laboratories and psychological analysis equipment, including eye trackers, a driving simulator, EEG (recording brain activity) and specialist survey software.

Topics include schizophrenia, counselling and positive psychology, autism, cyberbullying and prejudice. You'll be able to tailor your studies to suit your interests and ambitions. There are opportunities to participate in original research projects and you'll be supported by research-active academics.

You will be trained in science research methods and learn about the techniques used in molecular biology. You will study the biology of disease, tumour biology, immunology, molecular oncology, haematological malignancy, plus diagnostic and therapeutic techniques for cancer.

In addition to an understanding of the principles and practice of core topics in medical science, you will gain in-depth knowledge of oncology topics and their relationship to other medical disciplines.

Forensic psychology looks at the relationships between brain and criminal behaviour, how social groups interact and how human beings learn and develop. This course offers the knowledge and skills for designing, developing and operating secure IP-based networks. It offers practical skills in the specification, design, modelling and implementation of software and hardware. You will gain specialist knowledge of digital communications, multimedia communications, wireless networks and security issues. You will study the technologies of LTE and 5G wireless networks and the Internet of Things.
