BSc Business Information Systems

Our information systems degree gives you the skills, experience and expertise you need to succeed in the computer-based sector – and beyond.

This is an interdisciplinary course meaning the content is structured in ways that map explicitly to modern technology, including systems design, application development, client-side programming, and much more.

Developed in partnership with the NHS trusts, the course will see you spend 50% of your time on placements with our partner hospitals. You’ll learn the essential nursing skills needed to take effective care of adult patients in a live environment.

BA Sociology with Psychology

Our BA Sociology with Psychology lets you study two social sciences that naturally complement each other. You'll get a well-rounded understanding of the major concepts and themes in both contemporary sociology and psychology – and how they relate to everyday life.

BA Creative Writing and Journalism

With our journalism and creative writing course you don't have to pick between the two areas of interest. Our course offers the unique experience of combining both subjects, so you can develop your skills as a writer across different styles.

During the course, you'll cover everything you'll need to know about journalism – from shorthand to digital media. You'll also learn about the life of a journalist whether you want to write for a newspaper, magazine, or online platforms.

In today’s business world, success is increasingly hinged on the speed and efficiency of supply chains. In this course ,you’ll learn what it’s like to compete in the global marketplace and organisations that require employees to have both a broad understanding of how businesses operate and specialist knowledge of supply chain processes.

You’ll be taught by experts who have plenty of experience in the area including supply chain scheduling, forecasting and operations management. You’ll also benefit from our partnership with NOVUS Lite, who provide guaranteed work placements in your third year of your BA in logistics and supply chain management.

This course provides you the opportunity to work in a range of businesses and organisations while gaining specialised training in the industry standard software you’ll need to manage and analyse the supply chain.

You’ll receive training in industry-standard software for managing the supply chain processes. Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP) enables organisations to make decisions and run their business. Combining chemistry with biochemistry, this course will give you a grounding in pharmaceutical chemistry and the skills needed to work in the field.

During the course you’ll cover all aspects of pharmaceutical drug development, such as target identification, synthesis, clinical testing and trials, alongside building your knowledge of the main branches of chemistry.

Our pharmaceutical chemistry course is designed to the standards of the Royal Society of Chemistry. During the course you’ll be taught by an academic team with links to the industry that include GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis, and Johnson Matthey.

Building your chemistry skills in a lab environment

• Divided into four broad themes, you’ll cover all aspects of chemistry including core chemistry knowledge, practical skills, pharmaceutical knowledge, and numeracy and computational skills. You’ll build your analytical and research skills so you can collect and interpret experimental data.

BA Sociology with Criminology

Our Sociology with Criminology degree is designed to give you a grounding in sociological and criminological thinking, research methods and key skills to articulate new and emerging social and criminological issues. You'll focus on how society responds to crime, its causes and consequences, and investigating how we do and should respond to criminal behaviour in all its forms.

Digital media course has been especially designed to meet the skills and demands of the fast-moving creative industries. Combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills, you gain skills in areas such as new media, video production, website design, culture and more. Practice-based work includes video production (following Government safety guidelines), web design and HTML programming, data visualisation and smart environments. Great emphasis is also given to the management and analysis of social media platforms, with APIs and other sources used to present and assess social data.

Environmental health is the branch of public health concerned with how our living, working and leisure environments affect our health. It's a gripping subject to study and a fascinating field to work in. Middlesex University is the largest and foremost provider of environmental health education in the UK. This course is highly work-focused, with a strong emphasis on practical laboratory work and real-life case studies and you'll be able to take advantage of our close links within the industry.

The course is centred on UK law and practice, but is designed to be flexible and provide education and training that will be valuable internationally. Due the conditions created by the pandemic, Middlesex University has taken the decision to postpone the taking of the period abroad (either as Summer Placements of Full Year of Study Abroad) until July 2020-21, when the situation will be reviewed.
