Develop your practical dance performance skills

A dance degree will equip you with everything you need to start a career in this creative field, from joining a dance company to working for an arts organisation. Your day will be made up of a variety of learning including theoretical and creative practices, and daily practical classes with live accompaniment where you’ll specialise in different dance techniques.

We have four fully-equipped dance studios. Additionally, our flagship Grove Dance Theatre has a seating capacity of 144, a dedicated dressing room, a specialist lighting rig, and many more extras to facilitate an authentic stage environment.

We have a long-standing partnership with the artsdepot, an award winning cultural hub in North London, where you'll have an opportunity to perform. You’ll also attend industry professional workshops and the student-led dance society will facilitate your interests and pursuits of different dance styles. Graduates have gone on to perform with the likes of Eddie Peake, Ross McKim, and Flawless among others.

While you’re learning, you’ll be matched with a Personal Tutor directly related to your course. You’ll also get support from our Student Learning and Graduate Academic Assistants, who have experience in your subject area. We also have close links with the sport and rehabilitation clinic, so you receive support for safe dance training.
Teaching staff always work closely with students, going above and beyond to support them in their career goals and with their professional experience, they know the hurdles you'll face. Careers in the arts, dancing as part of a troupe or becoming a choreographer are all just an application away!

Our product design degree gives you the knowledge, practical skills and industry experience to build a portfolio that will help you launch a career in a wide-range of sectors.

Product designers are the visionaries who bring people and technology together. A BA in product design will open up both creative and technological career opportunities in areas that range from industrial design and engineering to mechanical design and creative technology.

Through project-based study, you'll develop the expert skills and understanding to combine aesthetic functionality and innovative technology. You’ll spend your first year studying a combination of product design and product design engineering to get a broad understanding of the fundamentals of both practices before choosing whether to continue with the BA Product Design or move across to our BEng Product Design Engineering programme.

• Our guest lectures from leading UK and international design experts and designer-in-residence scheme gives you the chance to build your industry knowledge, gaining valuable feedback on your portfolio. We’re also partnered with our design and innovation centre, redLoop, which gives you unique opportunities to work on real design and technology development projects.
• You’ll have the option to gain valuable professional experience by spending your third year in an industry work placement leading to a Diploma in Industrial Studies. Our network of creative professionals also means you’ll have access to prestigious work experience placements throughout your product design course.

The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication and problem-solving.

BA Business Management (Marketing)

This course is ideal for those who are interested in how businesses are operated and managed, but who also want to develop their own marketing expertise.

Through workshops, role-plays, problem solving exercises and analysing case studies, you'll learn to communicate your ideas and help to sell your products and services to customers. You’ll also study the key business functions that organisations require for success.

In terms of your career after your graduate, a BA in Business Management with a focus on marketing opens up a broad career path. The skills you'll develop are needed across almost every business and governmental sector, as well as third party organisations.

Effective marketing is essential to every successful organisation – and our BA Marketing is the ultimate stepping-stone to an exciting career across a range of disciplines. You’ll follow in the footsteps of graduates who have pursued careers in all areas of marketing, including marketing research, product development, brand management, integrated marketing communications, and retailing at companies including Bardingtons, Prem International School, IKEA, a number of local authorities, and the NHS.

As part of our Business School, you’ll develop your critical thinking, and gain the tools and knowledge needed to successfully navigate the professional marketing field.

You’ll also have the flexibility to tailor your marketing degree with a range of optional modules – from brand management and consumer behaviour, to market insight and digital marketing – that will complement your personal interests and career goals. You'll work on a consultancy project with a brief set by industry professionals and develop practical solutions in response.

Build your hands-on experience and develop your business skills

• You’ll get plenty of support throughout your studies – and our specialist librarians are also on hand to give you any additional support you need to excel in your marketing degree.
• You’ll also have the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience and employability skills with two work experience options. You can integrate a work placement into your studies with a 36-week sandwich placement as part of a 4-year degree, or two 18-week summer placements as part of a 3-year degree.

You enrol on a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in these subject areas. The number of students who progress to degree study are very high - in fact some of these students have gone on to become some of our most successful graduates.

BA Law

You will learn the principles of the English legal system, and gain reflection through social, political, economic, ethical and historical perspectives. You will also build a range of transferable skills, including abstract thinking and problem solving, that will allow you to prepare practically as well as academically for a successful legal career.

You will enrol on a four-year course which includes the one-year foundation year. The number of students who progress to degree study is very high. The Foundation Year in Performing Arts is taught in our excellent studios and facilities at our Hendon campus by the same lecturing staff who teach on our degree courses. You are taught in small group seminars, workshops and lectures.

BA Dance Practices

Our Dance Practices degree presents a vibrant curriculum that prepares you for a versatile, lifelong career in the dance and creative industries. Our diverse team of industry experts and professional artists will support you in tailoring this dance degree to suit your individual interests.

Our course combines broad theoretical skills of modern psychology practice with a focus on the neuroscientific explanations and research of human behaviour.

You’ll study in the psychology department which has some of the most high-tech equipment available. In our sector-leading laboratory, you’ll have access to all the facilities you would imagine from a top class lab – psychophysiological monitoring, electroencephalography (EEG), and more. Even in eventualities where we are unable to be in the laboratory or classroom together, we aim to use virtual tools to help you develop key practical skills.

The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and you’ll have access to membership once you graduate with your psychology and neuroscience degree.

After graduation, you can choose to progress into postgraduate training or pursue a career in law, politics or teaching. Previous graduates have gone on to work with companies like Pro Star Academy, Royal Free Hospital, and more.

Learn in an active environment
Throughout your degree you’ll study the foundations of psychology and neuroscience, broadening your understanding and knowledge of the disciplines. You’ll learn by researching, analysing and processing complex data and real-life case studies.

Designed to give you a deep understanding of psychology, this course sets you up perfectly for further postgraduate training. It also teaches you transferable skills required for a career across a wide range of industries.

During the course you’ll also take part in a work placement so you can test the skills you've built up throughout your modules. This year long placement sets you up to succeed when you go on to your postgraduate career. A wide range of influential and established organisations are involved with the placement course, for example Great Ormond Hospital School, St Georges Hospital, Priory Hospital, Institute of Psychiatry, Institute of Education, University College London, Holloway Prison, and the Metropolitan Police.

This degree weaves academic learning into the economics and finance context internationally and includes the option to take a valuable paid placement year where you'll be exposed to applying economics into action. You can choose to do short term internships in choice public, private and voluntary organisations such as government departments, financial sector, banks, risk and insurance sectors, investment and broking firms, retail and manufacturing firms, start-ups and charities among many others.

This degree will equip you with key skills in economics and finance, including data analysis, group presentation and discussion, writing and report preparation. It's been designed for students who are interested in starting up their own businesses, involved in running and managing businesses or becoming financial and economic analysts.

You'll gain a working knowledge of both theoretical and empirical methods that can be applied to the industry and world context. The topics included are:

Our academic advisers will help you find your placement and give you the support you need to complete a winning application.
• You can also choose to integrate work experience within the existing programme by taking the relevant volunteering and work placement modules. Our criminal justice degree approaches the subject from a theoretical, research-informed, and practice-based perspective. This means that during your time studying you’ll gain an understanding of the criminal justice system and the different career paths you might want to pursue after graduation. This could be joining the police or opting to work for support services and charities that focus on policy and reform.

During your studies, you’ll explore the problem of crime, its causes and consequences and to examine in-depth the workings and effectiveness of the criminal justice system. We'll provide an inclusive learning experience that is intellectually engaging, challenging, supportive and respectful of students from all backgrounds.
