Our civil engineering degrees focus on developing your knowledge and practical skills on topics across the discipline, so you graduate as a well-rounded civil engineer, and well-equipped for your future career.

This foundation year will help you build the base knowledge you need to progress to any of our civil engineering degrees.

This is a full-time programme of study covering core civil engineering topics, including:

• Foundation mathematics

This research master's includes taught and research-based elements. You'll focus in-depth on one aspect of German studies such as culture, literature and language from medieval to modern times.

Our research staff work in diverse fields. This ranges from sociocultural, historical and political studies to film and literature, linguistics and sociolinguistics.

This Urban Planning degree focuses on the built environment and how it’s developed. You'll develop a thorough understanding of planning processes, design awareness and housing policy so you're equipped to pursue a career in town planning.

On return to University in your fourth year, you study a selection of topics that are tailored to further develop the technical expertise you gain on your placement.

Our three-year Physics degree provides a strong understanding of the fundamental pillars of physics and a thorough grounding in advanced mathematics. This is an individually tailored research master's degree designed for graduates with a good background in linguistics and/or English language.

Our research master's in English Language and/or Linguistics is largely based around your own research interests. We'll prepare you for further research within and beyond academia. You'll be fully supported by experts situated in one of the largest centres for linguistics research in Europe.

The individually tailored course contains some taught modules. It mostly consists of smaller, independently conducted research assignments and a larger research dissertation at the end. The topics are chosen by you, in consultation with your supervisor.
