The Master’s in International Accounting and Finance is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills of the fundamental principles of financial management which are relevant to global business, in order to enhance their operational effectiveness in this particular area or to serve as preparation for further study or an academic career.

The programme covers areas such as financial management within banks, and regulation and finance functions within generalist and non-finance firms such as FMCGs (consumer goods firms). The focus is on key elements of corporate finance, banking, economics, regulation, international finance, portfolio management and applied quantitative methods. The aim is to produce ethically responsible specialists who have a strong financial and banking perspective in relation to corporate activity, pension funds, investment funds and international financial markets.

Throughout the programme, there will an intensive use of the financial software packages that are most widely utilised in industry, and students will obtain advanced training in the use of these packages.

On successful completion you will automatically gain associate level of CIPD professional membership which will entitle you to use ‘Associate CIPD’ after your name. All students are required to join the CIPD as a student member within one month of commencing the course, and for successful graduates the CIPD joining fee and first-year membership fee are paid by the University as an additional benefit for our students.

Bioinformatics combines knowledge from a variety of disciplines such as biology, computer science, mathematics and statistics to analyse and interpret biological data on a large scale.

The Bioinformatics programme at Bradford includes training in experimental techniques that complements commonly used data acquisition methods in a broad range of investigative scenarios. This is designed to provide a basic training in the principles of bioinformatics, followed by coverage of the advanced level of knowledge and training required relevant to large-scale data mining and processing, including programming and scripting via command line and the Galaxy interface.

A key feature of the MSc programme at Bradford is that students are able to learn the theoretical knowledge of bioinformatics with a practical training in experimental techniques that are commonly used in biomedical sciences. It provides advanced instruction in the identification and analysis of human remains, the techniques and methods applied to understanding human skeletal morphological variation, and the means by which to assess pathological conditions affecting the skeleton.

The course provides access to our world renowned collection of reference material (The Bradford Human Remains Collection), hands-on experience in the School's laboratories, and a substantial individual research dissertation.

It is designed to deepen critical understanding of the strategies, processes, techniques and issues involved in taking ideas for development and turning them into practical realities with identifiable outcomes and benefits.

The programme combines in-depth academic training in key concepts, theories and case-studies, alongside a structured process of engagement with contemporary debates and experience by policy-makers, diplomats and practitioners. You will have opportunities to learn beyond the classroom through political simulation exercises, field trips and specialist workshops creating new bridges between academic and practical dimensions of the field.

Natural Resources form the bedrock of global economic development. However, development and use of natural resources have implications for the environment, often leading to other socio-economic and political challenges such as poverty, disease and conflicts, especially in developing countries. The resulting environmental impacts such as climate change, pollution and degradation of habitats and species extinction has also raised serious challenges for governance and diplomacy at the international level, often pitting international economic policies and frameworks with natural resources and environmental governance.

This course will provide you with an excellent understanding of the law and policy issues in this area, and skills necessary to pursue a career in this exciting field, whether this be in private legal practice, as in-house lawyers in corporations, policy-oriented work in intergovernmental and other international institutions in advocacy in civil society organisations.
