The Department has a practical relationship with film related organisations such as the Bradford Film Office, UNESCO City of Film and the Working Academy placement agency. There is a lack of experts in data science and artificial intelligence and this lack of expertise means that, currently, only few companies are actually able to exploit the full potential of their data sets and transform the same into a competitive advantage.

This new MSc programme has been designed in response to the shortage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics (DA) specialists in the UK. It will give you the skills and professional insight you need to launch a career in these diverse and fast-growing sectors.

Our innovative and award winning degree programme, delivered predominately by Team-Based Learning (TBL), has been designed by pharmacists, educators, students and employers to ensure that you will graduate not only with the necessary knowledge and skills of a pharmacy graduate, but also with the confidence, communication, team-working, and problem-solving skills needed to secure employment. Our classes simulate the workplace and you will work in small teams to solve real-world problems, many of which are brought into the classroom from pharmacy practice by our team of pharmacist teacher-practitioners.

Physiology is the study of how living systems work. An understanding of how the body works and responds to everyday challenges is essential before determining what goes wrong in disease and developing new treatments and guidelines for managing health and wellbeing.

The MSc Physiology and Molecular Biology programme at Bradford is focussed on studying the cellular and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the function of organs and systems that underpin the integrated function and behaviour of the whole animal, both in health and in disease.

A particular focus of this programme is the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms that are responsible for a variety of prevalent human diseases. The programme uses this background knowledge to develop an understanding of the approaches being taken to develop the rationale for new therapeutic interventions and treatments for the future.

Chemists essentially perform one of two roles (and often a mixture of the two) in employment: chemists synthesise molecules and/or they make structural measurements.

When something is made or formulated in the chemical industry - be it a perfume, a polymer, a drug molecule or a pot of paint – an analytical chemist will be required to provide information regarding the product’s chemical constituents. As such, a good analytical chemist is seldom out of work.

Securing initial employment as an analytical chemist is greatly helped by having hands-on experience of using analytical instruments. The University of Bradford’s Centre for Chemical and Structural Analysis is based within Chemistry and Forensic Sciences, and is involved in commercial work as well as supporting research within the university. The equipment and expertise in the centre forms an integral part of our Analytical Chemistry degree, giving students the real-world experience that makes them stand out in the jobs market.

The new MA in International Relations and Security Studies explores themes of peace and conflict studies, including:

• War, violence and security-building between and within states and regions
• Tackling WMD, conventional arms proliferation, political violence and terrorism
