Our new Architectural Engineering degree combines the art of design with the construction of buildings. The programme is designed to produce tomorrow’s engineers, able to work in multidisciplinary teams to design, construct, maintain and operate our infrastructure utilising the latest technological tools and techniques.

The programme embraces the Conceiving-Designing-Implementing-Operating (CDIO) educational framework for producing the next generation of “work-ready” engineers. This will provide a learning experience that stresses the engineering fundamentals set within the context of CDIO real-world systems and products.

Studying Architectural Engineering will empower you as a graduate engineer to liaise and communicate effectively and efficiently with Architects to ensure both functional and aesthetic design. You will gain a solid technical ground in structural engineering, and appreciation and understanding of contemporary global architectural design. UN Sustainable Development Goals are embedded throughout the programme and practiced in the design projects to achieve a sustainable and resilient built environment.

The programme will give you the educational base to work at the intersection of structural engineering and architecture, and to successfully gain chartered engineering status after graduation.

The programme is delivered jointly by the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering and the Department of Computer Science, where an emphasis is placed on providing a supportive environment that will equip students with the knowledge and learning skills to tackle the future challenges in industry.

Mechanical Engineering is the most versatile of the engineering disciplines and there exists a high and growing demand from industry for graduate Mechanical Engineers.

Our accredited degree will place you at the heart of modern industry, providing career opportunities in sectors such as:

• Manufacturing engineering; product design, materials, production and processing.

You’ll combine mechanics, materials science, thermofluids and computational methods to design, analyse and implement complex systems which are economic, reliable, efficient and sustainable.

Throughout the degree you’ll put theory into practice through a range of individual and group projects. For instance, year 1 will see you take part in three projects using your skills to design, build and test real mechanical devices.

This new Master's programme examines advanced concepts in psychology related to health and wellbeing. It is suitable for you if you have completed an undergraduate psychology programme, or have a degree in an allied subject.

It offers a diverse portfolio of modules, covering areas including:

Teaching is delivered by staff with extensive research expertise, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on new and ongoing research within the Division of Psychology at the University of Bradford.

The University of Bradford and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust have partnered to establish an off-site nursing school and degree programme at Dewsbury and District Hospital.

The school aims to boost nursing recruitment for the Trust and widen degree course participation in the local area by offering our existing pre-registration BSc (Hons) Nursing programme in Adult Nursing.

Clinical practice experience makes up 50% of time on this three year programme.

You will gain a variety of experience within the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust. There may also be an opportunity for you to practice abroad.

Fundamental knowledge and skills will be learnt and practiced first, before you develop specific in-depth knowledge and skills to meet complex health needs of people.

Utilising industry standard facilities, technologies and software, under the supervision of a team of experienced and industry active lecturers, you will gain a solid grounding in:

During your final year on the course you will undertake a major bespoke production project, where you will be able to collaborate with other disciplines and put your learning into practice, whilst showcasing your expertise developed through the course.

The Department has a practical relationship with film related organisations such as the Bradford Film Office, UNESCO City of Film and the Working Academy placement agency. This is an exciting time to be involved in cancer therapeutics. Based upon a greater understanding of the molecular aspects of cancer, new opportunities for therapeutic intervention have emerged that are effectively 'target orientated'. These new therapeutics are quite distinct from the classical chemotherapeutic agents and they offer the prospect of truly selective cancer therapies that are tailored towards the individual patient's tumour. Cancer pharmacology plays a key role in drug development. In both the laboratory and the clinic, cancer pharmacology has had to adapt to the changing face of drug development by establishing experimental models and target orientated approaches.
