This course combines in-depth subject specialism in social policy with interdisciplinary breadth, creative teamwork and entrepreneurial skills. Alongside your social policy studies you will apply your subject knowledge by translating ideas into plans for digital and creative enterprises, both social and commercial.

Social policy is a multidisciplinary subject that provides an exciting opportunity to critically analyse contemporary social issues related to human wellbeing, inequality, disadvantage and crime. The course is taught by experts in their field and takes an international and comparative perspective in many units, ensuring social policy is considered within a global context.

You will come together with students from other innovation disciplines, such as management and anthropology, each contributing a unique perspective on a challenge as you identify needs and develop ideas. Ultimately, you'll create innovative solutions together.

By the time you graduate you will have a portfolio of work ranging from live client projects to planning your own entrepreneurial venture. This degree combines theatre with the study of Spanish, the second most widely spoken European language in the world.

For Spanish, as well as following a structured language course, you will build your practical skills and explore critical and historical frameworks through literature, film, history, thought, politics, linguistics and culture. When you return to Bristol for your final year you will have the opportunity to undertake an independent practical or written research project and/or a work placement in the creative industries.

The Department of History of Art offers a broad-based master's program, which enables you to study a range of periods and approaches before specialising for your dissertation. The MA draws on the research strengths of all members of the department, which includes specialists in medieval, renaissance and modern art.

We aim to help you develop an informed understanding of the main strands of art history, as practised in Europe and North America. We also offer curatorial units in collaboration with external museum partners, through which you will learn to research and catalogue museum collections and to mount exhibitions.

Our students are drawn from a variety of backgrounds. Some have undergraduate degrees in art history, others do not, and some are working artists. Studying for this MA is a chance to become part of a thriving academic community, with a sizeable and close-knit student body and a lively program of research and social events.

Our joint honours English and Spanish degree allows you to study two complementary disciplines, both of which ask you to think carefully about culture and historical context and pay close attention to detail while comprehending and analysing language.

This joint honours degree combines a full course in music with the study of French language, literature and culture.

Music offers a broad range of units in musicology, composition and performance across diverse styles and genres. These are complemented by weekly concerts, regular masterclasses and performances in the department and opportunities to get involved in the dynamic music scene in the city of Bristol. The department is exceptionally friendly and welcoming and staff run ensembles and perform with students.

French is the first language of some 90 million speakers around the world. Francophone countries offer diverse and stimulating cultures for study and the importance of French in European business and diplomacy makes knowledge of the language and associated culture both necessary and rewarding.
