• Our main focus in Psychology is the study of human behaviour.

• Due to the popularity of the course and performance criteria for entry into Honours (Year 4), the numbers admitted to Years 2 and 3 of the course are limited.

This course is a five-year Integrated Masters degree with entry into either Year 1 with Highers or Year 2 with Advanced Highers or A-levels. 

Biochemistry is the study of how cells work at molecular level. Together with the related field of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry provides important advances into understanding the molecular basis of life, and how alteration or disruption of these molecular pathways leads to disease processes.

This Masters degree is for students who want to specialise in a single biomedical science. It’s particularly relevant if you want to pursue a research career.

In Years 1 to 4, you’ll follow the same curriculum as one of the joint Honours bioscience degrees. In Year 5, you’ll focus on developing research skills and knowledge. A significant part of this course is project-based.

This 18-month MSc course has been developed to provide high-calibre mechanical engineering graduates with an in-depth technical understanding of advanced mechanical topics. You’ll gain the specialist and generic skills necessary to contribute effectively in developing company capabilities, with practical experience provided by the industrial placement.

Industrial Placement

• You'll complete an industrial placement in the period from June to August, after you have completed the taught part of your degree, but before your final project. The Department will support you in making applications for industry internships. Please note that it's your responsibility to secure a work placement.
• You'll be fully supported by the University while on a placement. You'll be allocated a University of Strathclyde supervisor who'll act as your point of contact during your placement.

There are a number of ways you can study law at Strathclyde, one such way being the BA degree in combination with another subject. Please note that studying law within the BA degree will not qualify you for entry to the legal profession. For professional qualifications in law students follow the LLB programme.

The MSc Applied Economics focuses on developing your technical and analytical skills alongside your practical experience of how these skills are used to solve real-world economic problems and inform decision-making in a variety of environments. The MSc in Business Analysis & Consulting has been developed to equip you with the practical, evaluative and analytical skills to allow you, as a future manager or consultant, to influence and develop strategy and performance within organisations. 

You'll learn the key quantitative business analysis methods necessary to evaluate performance. 

Industry involvement is at the heart of the course. You'll spend three weeks in January on a work placement, and have the opportunity to undertake your summer project in collaboration with an external organisation. 

In addition, you'll learn how to use business models to support the development of strategy for organisations and to help them to monitor and measure strategic processes. 

By the end of the program, you'll have developed the key skills of business consulting, which are applicable to any organisation.
