This MSc offers you the opportunity to gain a solid foundation in business, developing specific insight into consulting and consulting practice. You will learn from expert academics, as well as industry practitioners from top consulting companies, and build insight and practice with clients and specialists.

There is a choice of either the Dissertation or Business in Practice route. If you are considering further academic study (PhD) and you would like the opportunity to research a topic relating to consulting, the dissertation enables you to test and apply the techniques and theories you have gained. If you would like to develop further applied skills and specialist knowledge to suit your career aspirations, you can complete your studies with one additional elective module and our applied Business in Practice module.

Warwick's Language, Culture and Communication degree is a globally unique interdisciplinary program that prepares students to forge careers in the international marketplace. The degree combines elements of linguistics, intercultural communication, social psychology and public relations.

You will develop a unique combination of intellectual, analytical, research and communication skills, and apply them in a range of authentic situations. You will also develop your expertise in communicating effectively in different contexts, cultures and languages, and acquire first-hand experience of living abroad and working in multicultural contexts.

Study abroad

• If you wish to spend a year abroad (which we thoroughly recommend), this will take place in your third year, meaning that you will complete your degree in four years instead of three. All students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year abroad at one of our partner universities.
• The Student Mobility Team offers support for these activities, and the Department's dedicated Study Abroad Co-ordinator can provide more specific information and assistance. Students who elect not to complete the year abroad, or who do not academically qualify for it, may complete the course without a year abroad.

This course will enable you to develop expertise in both Latin and ancient Greek, as part of a holistic study of the languages, literature and thought of Greece and Rome, setting these within the broader cultural, social and political contexts of the classical world.

You will study a broad range of texts, taught in innovative and dynamic ways by staff engaged in groundbreaking research. Teaching will develop a range of core linguistic skills as well as skills of literary criticism and in theoretical and interdisciplinary approaches to Classics.

You will spend half of your degree in detailed study of Greek and Latin language and literature, with opportunity to study both well-known texts and less familiar ones, in topics such as ancient Greek theatre, or concepts of humour in Latin literature. You will also be able to widen your knowledge of the ancient world through exploring aspects of ancient art, archaeology, or history, or contemporary philosophical responses to ancient texts, themes, and concepts.

Study abroad
The following Classics and Ancient History degrees enable you to spend your third year studying classical subjects at one of our partner universities in Europe, before returning for your final year at Warwick.

Placements are under review and specific locations cannot be guaranteed; currently we have placements with partner universities in Italy (Bologna, Padua, Rome or Venice) and Germany (Berlin and Tübingen).

This unique course provides training from three top departments at the University of Warwick: Mathematics, Statistics and Warwick Business School. Building on your strong mathematical background, you will develop and apply the quantitative skills in machine learning, computational statistics and mathematical finance that are used within the financial markets and finance industry.

Our compulsory modules focus on the four elements of the core skill set needed for careers in finance: Financial Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Asset Pricing and Risk, and Simulation and Machine Learning for Finance. In line with these modules, you will also learn programming for Quantitative Finance, focusing on C++, Python, and R.

Providing comprehensive training in essential elements of modern communication and information engineering, this degree delivers information-theoretic underpinnings alongside physical-layer aspects of optical and radio transmission. You will also explore developments in radio network architectures and deployment and have opportunities to study communications technologies, data analytics and data mining, in terms of algorithms and goals in real-world problems.

When you graduate, you will be well equipped for employment opportunities in modern information and communication engineering, which is currently undergoing a revolution.

Biomedical Science involves the study of life processes in humans. The subject provides an understanding of the causes and consequences of human and animal disease, including infection, cancer and neurological decay.

The application of new biological concepts in medicine is an ever-growing and exciting process. Developments in molecular, genetic and cellular biology research continue to drive progress in areas such as vaccine development, neurogenerative diseases and metabolic diseases.

You will develop the hands-on lab, problem solving and research skills employer’s desire. If you are considering a career in medicine, we provide mentoring and support for medical school applications.

You can opt to take a year-long industrial placement or study abroad between your second and third years.

Study abroad

As an alternative to a work placement we support student mobility with the opportunity to apply for a year abroad at one of our partner universities all over the world. All Engineering students at Warwick develop an in-depth understanding of the classical principles of Engineering by following a general engineering programme for the first four terms.

As a student on the Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree, you will continue to study the same modules as those on the Electronic Engineering programme until the end of the second year. The later years of the degree cover power electronics, electrical machines, systems modelling and the operation and control of power systems.

By choosing the MEng degree you can explore specialist areas of Electrical and Electronic Engineering through fourth-year core and optional module choices and a group project.

Study abroad

You may choose to take an intercalated year in industry, research or study abroad between years two and three (BEng and MEng), or between years three and four (MEng only). If you choose to take an intercalated year, this will be reflected in your degree title, and add a year to your degree programme.

As an MEng student you may choose to take your third year as an exchange year at a partner university abroad, subject to academic requirements and approval of study programme.

In Global Sustainable Development (GSD) we take a critical approach to the dominant discourse of sustainable development. Based in the School for Cross-faculty Studies, our academic home is a natural place for future transdisciplinary leaders to flourish.

On this course you will work with Warwick’s GSD Department, the Institute for Global Sustainable Development (IGSD), and partner departments across the University. Our staff are at the forefront of their fields and share your passion for global sustainable development.

Core modules will support your development as an intellectual leader dedicated to bringing about positive change. They will help to deepen your understanding of the core global challenges we face, and develop your critical and reflective approach, as well as your technical and methodological skills. Your learning will be rooted in critical intellectual enquiry and philosophical understanding, which will support your personal development as a leader of thought and action. In addition, by having a wide range of optional modules, you can tailor the course to your own areas of interest.

In Term Three and the summer, you will have an exciting opportunity to ‘learn by doing’ as you undertake a transdisciplinary capstone project. We will offer you a choice of research, practice, and work-based experiences. Your chosen project will enable you to develop a skillset most suited to your future career goals.

By the end of this course, you will be equipped to play an authentic role in reflective global citizenship. You will also have a defined understanding of what is necessary to act as a leader of positive change. The route you choose upon graduation will be defined by your own interests and aspirations. Your learning from the course will equip you with what you need for a career in applied research, in policy, business, or in third sector activity.

Our single honors Philosophy course offers a broad range of modules as well as the freedom to choose your own path through the subject. You will learn how to think carefully and critically about a variety of philosophical questions.

• Is the mind identical to the brain?
• Should we impose limits on human enhancement?
• Your first year is designed to help you develop the skills and confidence to succeed on your selected path. You will learn through a variety of teaching and assessment methods in order to foster your development as an independent learner and to help you develop the skills needed to pursue a range of careers.

In your second and your final year, there is a broad array of optional modules to choose from, which allow you to sample a number of different areas of philosophy, or specialise in a particular area of philosophy, such as continental philosophy, or philosophy of mind.

You may also choose to apply for an intercalated year, spent either studying abroad or on a work placement. This extends the duration of your degree to four years and will be reflected in your degree qualification (for example, BA Philosophy with Intercalated Year, or BA Philosophy with Work Placement).

Study abroad

We run successful undergraduate exchanges with Queen’s University, Ontario, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, enabling second-year Philosophy students (single or joint honors) to compete for the chance to spend a full year studying in North America. Modules and examinations are taken at Queen’s and Madison count towards your degree.

All students have the opportunity to apply for an intercalated year abroad at one of our partner universities, which currently include: Bourgogne, Dijon; Erasmus, Rotterdam; Copenhagen; Friedrich Schiller, Jena or Cologne; Vienna; Autonoma or Complutense, Madrid or Seville; Rome or Turin; and Koc, Istanbul. Our MA is designed to prepare students for specialised postgraduate research in the fields of Art History and Visual Studies. You will have the option of spending the autumn term in Venice or can study for the full year on the Warwick campus.

The course enables you to develop your research skills by studying different periods and media in the history of art, and by taking an active part in research, exploring some of the broader issues in Art History today such as cross-cultural interaction and the arts, the spatial contexts of art, architecture and urbanism, and the arts within a global society.
