The integrated Masters course introduces a four-year programme that specifically focuses on the skills needed for a career as a research scientist. During this time you work with researchers within one of the UK’s top bioscience departments to learn specialised techniques; you will gain experience in a research lab doing pioneering work at the forefront of their field. You also undertake specialist research training and take Masters-level modules.

Adding a year in industry or a year abroad are both an option with this course too, so you can benefit from the advantages that a year away can bring. Our Genetics degree encompasses the molecular studies of genes and genetic engineering. You'll be taught your French modules in the target language, so you'll become confident using French as a means of communication, and for critical thinking. You'll gain an understanding of French-speaking culture and society which will underpin your abilities as a high-level communicator.

This course is taught in collaboration by the Department of Mathematics and the York Management School.

On this MSc you will have the opportunity to focus your individual research project on the technologies behind production and postproduction systems. Alternatively, you can focus your individual research project on creative production-oriented work with the MA Film and Television Production with Sound.

Computer Science is founded upon Maths, and the study of the two together allows you to explore topics core to both whilst gaining an insight into how they intersect.
