The Arkansas State University MAcc Program is a professional degree program designed to prepare students for careers in accounting and related fields. This program prepares students for advancement beyond entry-level positions, and provides an excellent avenue to obtaining the 150 credit hours required to sit for the CPA exam.

For students with an undergraduate accounting degree from an U.S. AACSB accredited university, the program usually requires 30 hours of course work. Students holding an undergraduate business degree in another field from an AACSB accredited university are required to take the accounting prerequisites.

This degree emphasizes composition or performance, depending on concentration area.

Performance - Instrumental, Voice, Keyboard - Concentration
Students in the performance concentration areas will develop comprehensive capabilities in the major performing medium including the ability to work independently to prepare performances at the highest possible level; knowledge of applicable solo and ensemble literature; and orientation to and experience with the fundamentals of pedagogy.

The Department of Criminology, Sociology, and Geography at Arkansas State University - Jonesboro offers a General M.A. Degree in Sociology and a M.A. degree in Sociology with a Concentration in Criminology. The program is designed to prepare students for entry into Ph.D. programs and provides skills and training necessary for employment as professional sociologists and in other related occupations.

Some M.A. recipients go directly into teaching at the community college or high school level. The Bachelor of Arts degree in music permits the study of music within a liberal arts curriculum and provides a broad coverage of the field of music rather than a heavy concentration in a single area. This degree requires a minor (approved by the advisor) and twelve hours of a foreign language.

• Students must meet requirements set by the College of Liberal Arts and Communication for entry into the Music Program.
• Admission to the University is required. A strong background in music ensembles and private study is recommended.

As an interdisciplinary degree with content focused on life science, this program is amenable for those in teaching, medical technology, nursing, museum curatorial and other professions.
Advising committees are formed to assist students in developing a program tailored to their long term professional goals and interests.

Aesthetic and functional values, creative ideas, and media skills are developed through instructional guidance and applied experience in the studio and classroom. Some of the courses listed here may involve field trips to Memphis Brooks Museum, The Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock, or other regional art collections.

The Bachelor of Arts degree provides a liberal arts-fine arts education, allowing students to pursue their interest in art history. The BA with an art history emphasis is a suitable beginning for a student planning to work toward an advanced degree in art history.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs are designed to prepare students for professional careers as a classroom art teacher, graphic designer, or studio artist. The BFA in Graphic Design is the initial professional degree, and it is the requisite degree for the student who plans to pursue a studio-oriented post-baccalaureate degree.

The Arkansas State University MBA Program is a professional degree program designed to prepare students of all educational and professional backgrounds for management positions in all types of organizations. As such, the program stresses the development of analytical, problem-solving and decision making competencies for the dynamic, complex global organizational and social environments.

The program in Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health will provide a comprehensive and quality education to students wishing to become occupational safety or environmental health practitioners in a variety of industries represented in the lower Mississippi Delta region, the state of Arkansas, and beyond.  The program curriculum will encompass a wide variety of basic areas of study including science, mathematics, statistics, and communication followed by more specialized coursework in occupational safety and environmental health topics.  Students will also have the opportunity to gain relevant experience in partnership with community private or public sector industry in an internship towards the end of their graduate career.  Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to enter their respective fields as general practitioners and be prepared to complete certification exams necessary for career advancement.  This program will give students the necessary background to develop and lead occupational and environmental safety and health programs and aid organizations in maintaining compliance with applicable environmental, health and industry safety regulations.
