As such, the program stresses the development of analytical, problem-solving and decision making competencies for the dynamic, complex global organizational and social environments.

International Business - Concentration
The MBA with Concentration in IB program is designed to allow graduate business students the ability to select in-depth coverage of the core components of today's IB ?eld while furthering their business administration academic career. Students will complete the 27 hours within the MBA core and 9 additional hours of graduate level IB coursework.

Management Information Systems - Concentration

Students will complete the 27 hours within the MBA core (which includes two graduate level MIS course) and 9 additional hours of graduate level MIS coursework.

International Business - Concentration

This MSW offers a concentration in rural based clinical social work practice. Students learn the fundamental knowledge, skills, and ethics that guide social work practice and the populations traditionally served by the profession.

Graduates of this program are:

• Prepared to acknowledge and utilize the less formal social exchange between people and systems that exist in rural communities.
• Educated on how to identify and develop resources, and how to use natural helping networks.
• Expected to employ a broad range of approaches, theories and models in their practice and to develop skills that enable them to perform multiple roles in the helping process.
• Aware of the importance of examining issues of diversity; social work values and ethics; how to identify, prevent and interrupt social and economic injustice; and the importance of community empowerment.

The M.S. Mathematics degree program provides advanced study in the theoretical and applied aspects of mathematics and statistics.  Students gain a deep foundation and core competency in at least three sub-disciplines of mathematics and broad exposure to other areas through elective courses in pure and applied mathematics or statistics.  Students graduating with the M.S. Mathematics degree are prepared for a number of possible objectives, including careers in industry and government; teaching at two-year and four-year colleges; or further study toward a Ph.D. program.  Through the thesis option, students gain experience in advanced problem solving through research in the mathematical sciences.  Upon completion of the program, many of our students go on to earn doctoral degrees and conduct research in a variety of fields in pure and applied mathematics and statistics.

The courses in chemistry and physics are designed to prepare individuals for a variety of post-baccalaureate options. The Bachelor of Science degree is for individuals who are seeking employment as chemical or physical professionals, or who wish to continue studies toward a Masters or Ph.D. Students who are looking to pursue a further degree in law, medicine, dentistry, or pharmaceuticals will find either the B.S. degrees in chemistry or physics or the Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry as an option for entry into the appropriate post-baccalaureate program. The Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science degree will prepare students for a career in forensic science, while the Bachelor of Science Education degrees will lead to a rewarding career in secondary science education. In all of these programs, there are sufficient elective hours to allow students to customize their degrees for careers as diverse as technical librarians, salesman, writers, or translators.

Data science and data analytics applications exist in numerous industries and government agencies.  This diversity of opportunity is reflected in the interdisciplinary nature of the Data Science and Data Analytics (DSDA) Program which involves six colleges; Agriculture, Education and Behavioral Science, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts and Communication, Nursing and Health Professions, and Sciences and Mathematics.   The DSDA Program builds out from the general education curriculum to a program core of 37 hours and two specific tracks from which students can choose.  The program core is be required of all students in the program and covers content in Statistics, programming, visualization, data governance and ethics. The two tracks - Data Science and Data Analytics – provide further depth beyond the program core. Within each track, students will be required to complete courses within their particular area of interest or “domain”.  Domains could include social sciences, healthcare, geospatial technologies, engineering, computer science, or bioinformatics to name a few.

The outcomes of the BS program are:

• Identify societal and ethical impacts as well as the responsibility that come with access to data.
• Critically assess and remediate issues with data organization and data quality.
• Design and implement a solution to a problem in the realm of data science/data analytics through problem identification, problem solving, decision making, visualization, data analysis and reporting.

The BS Psychology program supports the Arkansas State University mission by providing students with a challenging environment designed to foster understanding of themselves and others. Mass Communication is the study of sharing information through media outlets to reach large population segments. The primary focus of the M.S. in Mass Communications is on the fundamentals of communication theories enabling students to acquire the ability to understand and use basic methods of communication research.
