The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Computer Systems program emphasizes the application of principles to practical problem-solving in a domain of interest. Students complete a core set of foundation courses and courses in one of the following concentrations: system administration, game development, and general interdisciplinary.

Completion of the requirements for the degree will also meet the following GE categories:  B1; B2; laboratory activity; B4; and 3 lower-division units from category D.

In order to receive the Verification Statement from the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD), graduates must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8; and must receive a grade of B- (2.7) or higher in the 3000 and 4000-level DPD courses.  This Verification Statement is required for dietetic internship or supervised-practice program to become a registered dietitian/nutritionist (RDN) as well as to take the Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registration (NDTR) exam.

The M.A. in National Security Studies is a professionally oriented, interdisciplin­ary, graduate-level program designed to develop an understanding of the sub­stance and principles of defense policy analysis, strategic planning, and intelli­gence analysis in relation to the contemporary international environment. Our fully accredited Master of Arts program provides a comprehensive curriculum with foundations in strategy and strategic studies for students interested in pursuing careers in service for the U.S. government. Designated as an Intel­ligence Community Center of Academic Excellence, this program is uniquely designed for students interested in developing critical skills for careers within the intelligence community.

The Rehabilitation Counseling degree is a gateway that provides training opportunities that will sustain you throughout your future career.  Rehabilitation Counselors work in a variety of agencies that serve individuals from youth (in high school) to the older populations.  The Rehabilitation Counseling program provides graduates with the opportunity to serve those in need of assistance from transition aged high school youth to veterans. 

The focus of a Rehabilitation Counselor is to help develop effective strategies to eliminate barriers that prevent people from living their best lives (regardless of their age).  If you want to make a difference in peoples' lives, consider the Rehabilitation Counseling degree as the pathway to your future!  The Rehabilitation Counseling program provides a broad based educational foundation in medical, psychological, and psychosocial aspects of our clients' lives coupled with training in effective counseling interventions.

As prerequisites for acceptance into the B.A. in Child Development, students must complete the following as a "Pre-child development major." Upon completion of the requirements, the student's major will be changed automatically from "Pre-child development" to "Child development" status.

There are two concentrations within the Child Development B.A. These are Early Childhood Education and Child and Adolescent Development. Students must select one of the concentrations when they declare Child Development as their major. These concentrations conform to the Transfer Model for early childhood education and child development degrees.

The Master of Arts in Art is designed to provide opportunities for further study in one or more of the studio areas within the department. The program’s objectives are to foster the artistic growth and competence of the individual, provide the preparation for a professional career in the visual arts, and provide a basis for further graduate study in the field. This program is a thirty-unit program that may be completed in 18 months or three semesters.

Any student accepted for admission to CSUSB can declare music as major and pursue the BA in Music degree.  Examinations and auditions are available for advanced placement only, not as an entrance requirement.

All students enrolled as full-time music majors in the BA in Music are required to participate each semester until graduation in a major performing ensemble most appropriate to a student's applied emphasis.

Placement in the B.A. in Music is based on:

• A theory placement examination (proficiency in music fundamentals equal to that of MUS 1100 and MUS 1110),
• A piano proficiency audition, and
• An applied music audition (performance proficiency equal to collegiate applied music at the 1400-1450 level.

The M.A. in Education, TESOL Option is a program designed to meet the needs of English teachers in classrooms with English learners both in the United States and abroad. We offer specialization in K-12 education, adult ESL, program management, and college-level English teaching. Teaching English in California and around the world is a fast-growing profession.

The program features outstanding faculty with teaching and research interests in language and literacy development, innovative language-learning methods, and technology-enhanced instruction. A unified focus on language for communicative purposes draws together contemporary theories that focus on the language learner as a whole person. Courses in teaching methods and supervised fieldwork opportunities strengthen the knowledge of classroom techniques.

Students are encouraged to check that they have met the prerequisite requirements for each course in the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration in which they are planning to enroll. Prerequisite requirements listed for each course are strictly enforced.

Enrollment in 3000-, 4000- and 5000-level courses in the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration is restricted to students who have completed at least 60 semester units (i.e., have achieved junior standing). Course prerequisites are strictly enforced.
