Explore the major concepts, theoretical views, empirical findings, and historical trends in political science while studying the foundations of American national, state, and local government. This involves a careful study of liberal democracy (and the competing ideologies), as well as the rights and responsibilities of citizens. Our curriculum emphasizes the importance of living in accord with the values and ethics of the Christian faith; thus, we will examine the relationship between religion and politics in the United States. Ultimately, you will be trained to make a positive impact in the public square be critically analyzing today’s most challenging issues.

Gain hands-on experience through an intensive internship at the local, state, or national political level. Your final project will take place over the course of your senior year. Two courses, Research Proposal and Senior Seminar, will culminate in a thesis that addresses a political question that interests you. Upon graduation, you will be equipped to pursue graduate studies or begin a career in government, law, journalism, non-profit agencies, education, and the military.

A good manager can adapt to almost any business structure in any industry. Because managerial skills are, for the most part, universal. This program will allow you to explore how businesses are structured and provide you with the skills you’ll need to succeed in almost any environment. You’ll gain mastery of current software for designing and managing business projects, while adopting proven project management tools and techniques at each stage in a project’s lifecycle. You’ll gain an understanding of how to integrate organizational strategies that involve the parent, supplier, and sub-supplier organizations working together in domestic and global environments.

You’ll also gain practical knowledge of marketing tools, market segmentation, research analysis in decision-making, media and promotion, budgeting, and evaluation. From developing a comprehensive and viable business plan to setting and obtaining investment objectives – such as capital, debt, securitization, and government subsidized options – this program will arm you with a variety of applicable skills. And you’ll learn about small businesses too, the way management is applied. Most importantly, you’ll acquire skills and experience that’ll help you become the well-rounded and insightful leader your organization deserves, whether you’re in small business, investments, or real estate.

If you’re going to be a defender of the law, it’s probably a good idea you study up on ethics. You’ll get plenty of that in this program, taking a look at ethical decision-making by criminal justice workers. You’ll also gain an introduction to a wide variety of other topics, like criminal psychology, as well as public policy and its effect on the American court and criminal justice system. You’ll have an opportunity to understand criminal investigation processes like interviewing, crime scene analysis, and collection of evidence. (Hint: CSI: Miami had it all wrong. Now, COPS, on the other hand …) You’ll study the law as it relates to arrests, searches, and seizures by law enforcement, probation and parole officers, and corrections officials. You’ll even study the rules of evidence and courtroom procedures.
There may not be a bat signal at the end of this program, but you’ll be thoroughly prepared for a career in court administration, security management, custodial and community-based corrections, intelligence operations, or investigations. Or maybe you’ll be more interested in municipal, state, or federal law enforcement. Or maybe state or federal probation and parole. Who knows? You could even use this degree as a good launching point for a bid at law school! Point is, you can expect this program to help you explore the incredibly exciting study of the courts, crime causation, criminal law, public policy, and the justice system.

CUW has teamed up with Milwaukee Area Technical College to provide this bachelor degree program. What does this mean for you? First and foremost, you’ll receive state-of-the-art training in environmental health and water quality from experts at MATC coupled with the top-notch liberal arts program and large selection of minors offered at CUW.

Moreover, you can choose whichever route best fits your goals and needs while you obtain your degree—whether you enroll at CUW for a traditional four-year experience and commute the 3+ miles to MATC, or you divide your education into two distinct periods by completing MATC’s two-year, associate-level program prior to enrolling at CUW. Either choice will equip you with the skills you’ll need to make an impact; it’s up to you to decide which one best suits you.
Our environmental health and water quality technology program will teach you how to identify, monitor, and evaluate environmental health hazards. You’ll learn to promote environmental protection, improvement, and sustainability. Furthermore, you’ll be ready to apply relevant guidelines and regulations, control and handle hazardous materials, and perform water and wastewater analysis. The environmental health and water Quality technology program provides a solid foundation for a range of career opportunities that include the application of regulations and procedures to identify, evaluate, and control hazards.

Our goal in the Master of Occupational Therapy program is to prepare you as an outstanding occupational therapist, who will positively impact communities by empowering others to reach their highest potential through leadership, best practice, advocacy, and innovation. We emphasize the importance of serving all clients with the best care possible.

You’ll develop the skills necessary to enable people (persons, groups, or populations) to do their day-to-day occupations for the purpose of improving or enabling participation. (OTPF-4, 2020) By combining classroom, laboratory, and supervised clinic-based instruction, our courses train you for a wide range of occupational therapy settings.

Through our program you’ll be able to:

• Demonstrate advocacy skills to be an effective change-maker in surrounding communities
• Use best practice for the evaluation, intervention, and measurement of outcomes for individuals or communities
• Effectively and efficiently solve occupation-based problems
• Develop leadership skills

Students in the MOT program will have the opportunity to explore the entry-level Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTDe) degree. At the conclusion of the second semester, students will be given the choice to continue in the MOT program or declare interest in the OTDe program. Students who declare interest in the OTDe will be evaluated by OT faculty to determine eligibility to enroll in OTDe coursework.

This is a full time graduate professional program taught in a blended format. Students interact with their classmates and professors online before and after in person classes, which focus on active learning and/or lab activities. Students apply to and enroll in one of three tracks, as determined by their educational background:

Computer scientists are instrumental to anything and everything that involves computers. And let’s be honest, pretty much everything today involves computers. Robotics, virtual reality, and videogames are often cited as future job areas, but you could also be a part of many other fields—animation, music, automobiles, analytics…the list goes on.

What comes to mind when you think of computer science? In our modern world, there are decreasingly fewer things that don't rely on computers and technology in some shape or form, making computer science one of the most practical and versatile fields of study out there. At Concordia, we define computer science as solving problems using technology. If you can learn to create and manage technology solutions, you can apply your skills to just about any career path.

With five different concentrations available and substantial flexibility in electives, you have the power to customize this degree and make it your own. In this program, you'll receive a well-rounded education through the Concordia Core, as well as a firm foundation of computer science knowledge through our Technology Core. You'll learn the ins and outs of hardware, software, operating systems, databases, coding, and user interfaces. From there, you can branch out into one or more concentrations of computer science, specializing in the areas that are of most interest to you. You can use your electives to earn multiple concentrations, or to explore coursework in any other field at Concordia, broadening your knowledge base.

The aim of Concordia’s program is to prepare you for a career in the biochemical industry or to pursue graduate studies to earn a PhD, an MD, or a PharmD. Expect to be challenged on a regular basis. Our professors have designed a rigorous curriculum to help you advance as a scientist and develop analytic reasoning.

A significant portion of your studies will take place in our recently constructed laboratories, with state-of-the-art technology and equipment. Whenever possible, our faculty take a hands-on approach to learning, so you can expect to quickly become comfortable in a lab setting. You’ll gain a thorough foundation in the various areas within chemistry, including organic, analytical, physical, and biochemistry and within biology, including molecular biology. And CUW students aren’t limited to the required courses for developing their skills. If you have a particular area of interest, you have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a faculty member in conducting an undergraduate research project.

This MBA with a concentration in research for business applications is a unique concentration that allows you to take 12 credits from the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) research courses and count them towards the MBA. Saving you time and money for both degrees!

In this concentration, you’ll take four research courses (12 credits) in our DBA program. As a result, you’ll gain knowledge to be a productive researcher in your field. You’ll understand how to collect and analyze data to benefit your organization. Learning the ins and outs of scholarly research, including statistics for research, quantitative research skills, and qualitative research skills. Business decisions should be guided by a strong understanding of the qualitative and quantitative factors that guide strategy and differentiation among multiple alternatives.  While this program allows you to jumpstart your studies in the DBA program, it can also be used to improve your organization and your ability to sift through data driving the complex challenges your organization will face. This concentration will also provide you with the skills necessary to perform solid academic research intended for peer-reviewed publications.

The food and beverage track of the MPD, explores the business of food and beverage development; from the development process in the marketplace, to package design, to marketing and management. You’ll partner with industry leaders on projects, and perform work in state-of-the-art food science and sensory labs.

Of course, a program like this wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t teach you the entrepreneurial skills you’ll need to start your own company. But you’ll also learn to build critical-thinking and teamwork skills through case-based teaching and labs, blending technical skills with business, legal, regulatory, and compliance knowledge. You’ll learn how to use analytics and demand projections to make management decisions, while using concepts—like Lean Six Sigma and sensitivity analysis—to solve operations and process-optimization challenges.
