The master's program prepares nurses to assume roles either as nurse practitioners or as nursing and healthcare systems executive managers.

The purpose of the nurse practitioner program is to prepare competent nurse practitioners who possess knowledge, skills and abilities in physical diagnosis, psycho-social assessment and management of health-illness needs in a primary or acute care environment.

The purpose of the Nursing and Healthcare Systems Executive Management program is to prepare nurses to assume executive-level positions and senior leadership roles in hospitals, clinics, healthcare systems and other healthcare entities serving patients in highly complex and diverse settings.

The master of science degree is open to qualified students who desire advanced preparation in a variety of areas of clinical specialization and executive management.

The Master of Arts in Spanish from California State University, Long Beach opens doors for teachers, journalists, translators, writers, and other professionals seeking to demonstrate advanced knowledge of Spanish and Spanish-speaking cultures. The program has approximately 45 active students at any given time, a number that allows for individualized mentoring, advising, and intellectual engagement. The Construction Management specialization within the MSCE program requires completion of 30 units of graduate courses, as specified below. Each student's program must satisfy all requirements of the university, college, and department, and contain the equivalent of 10 or more units of design, as determined by the department's graduate coordinator. During the first two weeks of the first semester as a graduate student at CSULB, the student should make an appointment to meet with the graduate coordinator, who will assign him/her to one of the construction management area faculty.

The Master of Science Degree in School Counseling is a 51-57 unit program. Graduates of the program are typically employed in K-12 education to support the academic, social/emotional, and career readiness needs of all students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model. Program candidates concurrently meet requirements for the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential required for persons employed as school counselors in public schools. The program is accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) is designed to provide students with an advanced and highly sought-after expertise necessary in the field of information systems. The program provides training in advanced technical, managerial, and analytical techniques with a focus on digital transformation, data analytics, and cyber security, which will advance student career prospects and prepare them for lifelong learning in a global economy. Students can choose one of two tracks (accelerated/fulltime or professional/part-time) to accommodate their work schedule and their career goals.

The Fast Track Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program is available to promising students seeking a career in Information Systems. CSULB undergraduate information systems students may apply to the Fast Track MSIS program as undergraduates. Students are eligible for the Fast Track MSIS if they maintain a 3.0 Overall and Upper Division Major GPA. Students deemed eligible for the Fast Track MSIS program may waive the GMAT/GRE test and additional application requirement. Please inquire with the Graduate Business Office for more information.

The difference is that today’s public servants are recognized and rewarded in personal and material ways, making the study of public policy and administration a highly desirable career option.

The Graduate Center for Public Policy and Administration offers the Master of Public Administration degree; Options in the degree program include Public Works Administration and Urban Affairs; and graduate certificate programs exist in Employer-Employee Relations and Personnel Management, Public Management Analysis, and Public Sector Financial Management.

Classics is a practical liberal arts major for developing critical thinking and writing skills, understanding the foundations of global civilization, fluency in English, and aesthetic and moral sensitivity.

Classics comprises the study of the ancient Greek and Roman languages, classical archaeology, literatures, and civilizations, as well as the peoples with whom they interacted. The Department of Classics provides a Bachelor of Arts in Classics as well as minors in Latin, Greek, and Classical Studies. Roman and Greek civilizations are the two options available for the Classics major.

The Master of Music degree program provides professional concentrations in Composition, Conducting-Instrumental, Conducting-Choral, Jazz Studies, Opera Performance and Instrumental/Vocal Performance.
