The M.F.A. in Media Arts and Technology is a multidisciplinary program of study that blends media arts, design, creative expression and technology to enhance communication and user experiences across all industries and disciplines. It provides opportunity for aspiring storytellers, designers, filmmakers, photographers, artists and technologists to exercise creativity through technology. The M.F.A. is 42 credit hours. Students choose one of the program tracks: 1) Creative and Strategic Media, 2) Interactive Design, 3) Photography and Film.

Developing student creative competence and design thinking skills is central to our teaching philosophy. In each program track, project-oriented classes focus on creative and designed projects such as literary works, films and documentaries, photography exhibits, interactive apps and websites, digital user experiences (UX), and public relations and advertising campaigns. 

We offer four-year Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree programs that combine computing theory and programming skills, both of which are essential for solving problems in many types of careers.

Majoring in computer science will train you to create software applications in fields ranging from gaming to Web and mobile apps and give you a strong understanding of computational theory and best practices so that you can adapt throughout your career to ever-evolving computing capabilities.

Public health promotes and protects the health of people and the communities where they live, learn, work and play. With a bachelor's degree in public health, graduates can make an impact on public health locally and globally, conducting research, educating, and coordinating resources to prevent the spread of diseases.

Duquesne's 30-credit MS in Analytics & Information Management (MS-AIM) will prepare you to apply models, analytical methods and visualization tools to data, producing insights that lead to better business decisions. You'll gain distinctive skills, including:

Pursuing the Bachelor of Music in Music Technology will connect you to the cutting-edge of a creative industry that is seeking composers and engineers for broadcast, film, gaming, ministry, medicine, recording studios, sound stages, television, and virtual reality platforms.

M.S. programs require a minimum of 30 post baccalaureate semester hours; 24 credits of course work, including 2 credits of seminar, and 6 credits of thesis research. The M.S. in Pharmacy Administration, thesis option requires 27 credits of course work, including 2 credits of seminar and 9 credits of thesis research; non-thesis option 33 credits of course work, including 2 credits of seminar. In conjunction with the Graduate School of Business Administration, the department offers an M.B.A./M.S. in Industrial Pharmacy, an 85 credit, non thesis program, requiring concurrent graduate-level enrollment in both the Graduate School of Business Administration and the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Fifty-seven credits in core business administration course work and 28 credits of course work in the pharmaceutical sciences are required.

Public History is history that happens outside of a textbook and the classroom. Public Historians interpret the past for the public in museums, national parks, historic houses, or on main streets. Public History programs give you skills to deal with different audiences, various materials, and multiple contexts. It is often called 'applied history', because it mixes deep historical knowledge with theory and practice.

Communication Studies draws from the richness of the communication discipline to allow students to design programs of study that meet their unique interests and professional goals. Students can develop competencies in a number of areas, including intercultural and interpersonal communication, organizational communication, argumentation, event planning, persuasion, professional communication, visual communication, rhetoric and popular culture, and community relations. Communication Studies majors pursue careers in family businesses and for-profit and non-profit organizations or graduate school in communication, law, public policy, healthy policy and administration, or business.

Liberal Arts students may design a Liberal Arts major if they prefer not to choose a formal major course of study offered in a traditional discipline. A self-designed major allows for the election of a concentration in either the humanities or social sciences, or it may be built around a theme that brings together courses in both the humanities and social sciences.
