Our program is built on the premise that students learn science best by enjoying the successes and failures of research, so we encourage students to begin research as soon as possible and, indeed, students should approach faculty members to investigate beginning research as early as their freshman year. Students interested in beginning research should browse faculty research interests on the web and make an appointment with individual faculty members to discuss their research. Research opportunities are available for academic credit or on a volunteer basis, and occur throughout the year. Occasionally, funding may be available through an individual faculty member’s grant.

With rapid advances in technology, and as generations live longer, more active lives, the demand for biomedical devices, procedures and other solutions continues to grow as well. Biomedical engineers with advanced degrees have even more opportunities for expanded responsibilities.

This 32-credit MS-BME program was designed to be flexible to serve both full-time students and working professionals seeking to become innovators in the biomedical engineering field. Students will have significant opportunities for research in state-of-the-art labs, working alongside accomplished faculty.

Graduates of the program will have the experience to perform research and engineering design for academia, government and industries related to human health. Additionally, students with the desire to continue on to a PhD program or professional medical education will have the appropriate basis upon which to build.

Upon successful completion of this program students will:

The Computer Systems Technology (CST) Program is an innovative online degree program that offers working professionals, military personnel, and other motivated students an opportunity to complete their Baccalaureate coursework in the field of computing technology. The Bachelor of Science in CST curriculum offers a blend of computer systems and information technology that creates a well-rounded professional who knows how to think analytically, assess and diagnose organizational problems, and select the best solution. This program prepares graduates for licensure as a professional counselor (LPC) which is essential for employment in the mental health field and private practice. Students may complete the Master of Science (M.S.) in Addiction Counseling program within 2 years or also have the option of completing the program on a part-time basis. Students have the option of taking classes in the early evening and late afternoon. Graduates of the program are eligible for employment in mental health settings, working as out- and in-patient therapists, mobile therapists, substance abuse counselors, etc.

Communication Studies draws from the richness of the communication discipline to allow students to design programs of study that meet their unique interests and professional goals.
