Music Theatre
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre provides students with a hands-on, personalized education. Students work closely in classes and on stage with faculty who provide training and experience to accelerate students to a professional level. This program affords the opportunity for you to hone your craft with industry professionals.

Acting
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting degree provides students with a core curriculum that is challenging, dynamic, and relevant to today's professional theatre world.

Design/Technology
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design and Technology provides students with an interactive program that prepares them for careers in scenic, lighting, and costume design and the technology skills that support each field.

The Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) program prepares graduates to work with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organisations within medical and behavioral health settings, with a special focus on military populations. The Master of Social Work program at UWF develops advanced practitioners who can demonstrate clinical and critical thinking skills necessary to assist clients in a broad range of dilemmas and settings.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) degree with a major in General Business prepares students for the world of business, which increasingly demands that business graduates have cross functional abilities. The General Business major builds abilities across multiple business disciplines, including Management, Marketing, and Finance/Economics, thus providing broad abilities in the context of managing modern businesses. The orientation of the major is towards effective management of resources, adoption of market orientation, and understanding of financial and/or economic implications of management decisions.

Medical laboratory professionals are health care detectives. In this program, you will learn to gather evidence and uncover clues needed to effectively diagnose and treat patients.

Studying medical laboratory science at UWF sets you up for a successful career in a medical lab setting. Many of our students have job offers before they graduate. Teachers change lives. UWF's elementary education program will prepare you to become a skilled teacher with detailed coursework and supervised experiences in grade school classrooms. In addition, you will develop your awareness and understanding of diverse cultures and people.

Why Study Elementary Education at UWF?

• This competitive major prepares you for the ever-changing world of elementary education. Graduates are eligible for professional certification from the State of Florida to teach kindergarten through sixth grade. 
• Unlike many other elementary education degrees, our program includes endorsements in both reading and English speakers of other languages, known as ESOL.
• We will prepare you to teach reading, writing, science, mathematics, social studies, critical-thinking skills and problem-solving to elementary school students.
• We are accredited by the State of Florida and the Council for the Accreditation for Educator Preparation.

What You Will Learn

• The degree includes 64 semester hours of coursework in general and subject-specific methods and strategies with a focus on engaging elementary students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Through engaging hands-on field experiences in local elementary schools, you will learn to work with children of varying needs and have a positive impact on their lives. You will learn to engage students in inquiry, facilitate learning, develop curriculum and collect, analyze and interpret data to inform your instruction.
• We offer numerous scholarships and a limited number of yearlong paid internships for high-achieving students in high-need Escambia County schools. These internships fulfill the student teaching requirement.

The B.A. in Chemistry is available in two specializations: Chemistry and Chemistry/Biochemistry. Both specializations are designed for students who need a strong background in chemistry for application in other fields such as business, education, forensic science, pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-law, and some environmental fields.

The program is designed for students who need a strong background in chemistry for application in other fields. The tracks within this program are business, pre-law, and education, and chemical hygiene. Each track has the same core of chemistry courses and a set of required courses which depends on the area of concentration. The education track meets the American Chemical Society (ACS) recommendations for a Chemistry/Education degree.

Students may also complete an advisor approved minor or its 15-18 sh equivalent in a field related to the student’s career objectives.

The Biomedical Sciences degree is designed to prepare students who have the goal of admission to post-graduate health professional schools. The degree is designed to fulfill the prerequisites required for students pursuing advanced degrees in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, physician assistant, biomedical sciences, etc.

The B.M. in Music is designed to prepare students for careers in the field of music. Permission to major or minor in music is granted by the department and an audition is required.

The B.S.B.A. in Finance prepares students for professional careers in areas such as corporate financial management, financial institutions management, investments, and financial planning. The program also provides the foundation to pursue the designations of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
