The Graduate Degree Program in Ecology (GDPE) is one of the leading programs in graduate ecology education in the U.S. and the world. We have an ongoing tradition of research excellence, publication and post-graduate placement.

Our unique interdisciplinary program allows students a variety of learning and networking opportunities. GDPE is jointly administered by CSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences, College of Natural Sciences, and the Warner College of Natural Resources to engage students with expert faculty across multiple departments. As a Special Academic Unit within the university, GDPE offers a distinct graduate experience through both the breadth and depth of training that helps our graduates excel professionally.

The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Pathology offers superior research programs with multi-disciplinary approaches and is home to some of the finest biomedical researchers in the nation, working in highly specialized laboratories. Their research focuses on understanding the pathology, improving the diagnostics, and developing more effective treatments, vaccines and cures for internationally important infectious diseases.

The Major in Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts is a B.A. degree program combining humanities, arts, languages, performance, media, communication, literature, and social sciences so as to foster interdisciplinary knowledge, core career competencies, personal development, professional expertise, interpersonal confidence, and a richer understanding of the complex world in which we live. Students create their own program of study, choosing courses within the College of Liberal Arts based upon their academic interests, personal curiosity, and future career goals.

To further increase depth and focus, and to enhance expertise and career opportunities, Interdisciplinary Liberal Arts students are required to complete a second field of study, which can be any minor, or a second major, or 21 credits in a Foreign Language.

The Master of Social Work features an accredited, advanced generalist curriculum that will prepare you to become a social work practitioner in a variety of settings. You will learn to advance health and well-being, challenge inequities, and promote social justice and human rights for individuals and communities. The program is offered in a variety of formats including the standard two-year program, advanced standing for students who already hold a BSW, part-time hybrid options, and an MSW/MPH dual degree.

Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) research is aimed at educating and training the next generation of out-of-the box thinkers to solve the biggest global challenges.

By fostering a multidisciplinary approach, MSE degree programs strive to endow students with the tools to strategically question current design paradigms and drive innovative materials and manufacturing solutions across a diverse range of technological sectors. Motivated by modern materials challenges in energy, computing, transportation, impact protection, robotics, and global health care, MSE programs’ comprehensive, experiential training is designed to arm graduates with a modernized skill set tailored to confront those challenges head-on.

MSE degree programs are designed to engage students with:

• Active hands-on training in the latest materials characterization and computational methods, materials-focused intellectual property protection and technology transfer, and professional soft skill development.
• Enhanced educational opportunities promoted through industry partnerships, facilitating internships and class time spent in active commercial manufacturing labs.
• A diverse core of faculty mentors driving advances in controlling structure at the nanoscale, predictive property modeling, high performance metal, polymer and ceramic composites, photovoltaics, and additive manufacturing.

We recognize that success in the arts is being redefined in the 21st century, and that the skills needed to be a successful artist extend beyond the studio, stage, and performance hall. An innovative mind, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for the arts are all essential for success. These principles are not just exclusive to artists, but serve all students well, no matter where their career leads them. This program is offered by the LEAP Institute for the Arts, a special academic unit of Colorado State University’s College of Liberal Arts.

Marketing - Concentration
Every business, no matter how small, needs a comprehensive marketing strategy. Getting a message, product or movement in front of an audience takes research, commitment, and creative problem-solving. Marketing assembles all these assets and presents them in an engaging narrative that connects with people, attracts an engaged audience, and creates growth.

At the College of Business, you’ll be challenged to create lasting solutions to complex problems using the latest marketing methods. Our program connects you with faculty, industry leaders, and forward-thinking coursework, all designed to help you confidently enter the marketing field.

The International Studies major is an interdisciplinary program designed to help you explore and understand the nature of diverse cultures and peoples. You’ll learn a broad range of subjects, all of which contribute to a wide range of job prospects from government, academics, law and foreign service to communications, media, journalism, and beyond. Within the major, you’ll have multiple opportunities to travel, learn languages, and explore cultures around the world. This major includes an accelerated option for students to graduate on a faster schedule.

Latin American Studies - Concentration
This concentration aims to trace the similarities and differences among the Latin American countries, recognizing the historical origins of current conditions. Courses in history, economics, literature, sociology, political science, anthropology, art, and three years of Spanish give students a powerful tool for understanding and interpreting Latin America’s past and present.

This interdisciplinary program examines the cultural and social construction of gender, explores the history, experiences, and contributions of women to society, and studies the influences of gender on the lives of women and men. Looking at the world through this lens allows us to more directly and effectively address issues of social justice and social change. By studying gender relations, students learn skills that work toward dismantling gender-based inequality and promote gender equity in various arenas of social life.

Real Estate -  Concentration
Real estate professionals help find, provide, and manage physical spaces and coordinate across industries including architecture, construction, law, finance, marketing, property management, and urban development.
Take your natural interests and craft them into a lasting career. While studying real estate at the College of Business, you’ll learn from faculty who have years of real estate and financial experience. You’ll find specialized resources like the Everitt Real Estate Center and a suite of courses that account for the latest changes and best practices in the field of real estate.
