Accounting - Concentration
Accounting is more than an asset on the balance sheet, or a dollar on the income statement. By studying accounting, you’ll learn how to run the numbers and file tax forms, but you’ll also develop the transformative skills to guide individuals and businesses, non-profits and government organizations toward stronger financial futures – playing a key role in their growth.

Successful accounting professionals translate financial data, craft compelling narratives and use their expertise to inform major business decisions, while predicting short- and long-term effects.

The track will prepare students for ‌careers‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌variety‌ ‌of‌ ‌governmental‌ ‌and‌ ‌non-governmental‌ ‌organizations,‌ ‌ranging‌ ‌from‌ ‌non-profits‌ ‌to‌ ‌advocacy‌ ‌groups‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌private‌ ‌sector.‌ It ‌will‌ ‌also‌ ‌serve‌ ‌students‌ ‌who‌ ‌plan‌ ‌to‌ ‌continue‌ ‌their education‌ ‌in‌ ‌professional‌ ‌schools‌ ‌or‌ ‌Ph.D.‌ ‌programs, or secondary school educators who would like to deepen their expertise in‌ ‌the‌ ‌humanities‌ ‌and‌ ‌social‌ sciences.‌

Collaboratively formed in 2008 by the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado, the Colorado School of Public Health  provides training, innovative research and community service to actively address public health issues including chronic disease, access to healthcare, environmental threats, emerging infectious diseases, and costly injuries.

The B.F.A. in Art is considered the professional degree for studio art and art education majors, allowing you to explore various mediums and gain a foundational knowledge base in art history. You’ll get opportunities to learn from masters of their crafts as well as look back upon art throughout the ages, different forms of expression, and their impact on society.

Fibers - Concentration
The Fibers concentration fosters creativity and artistic expression in a wide variety of textile media. Students develop skills in visual communication as they investigate the language of textiles and the role of fibers in contemporary art and design. Undergraduate courses provide foundations in weaving and surface-design methods—including fabric printing, painting, dyeing, and embellishment. Classes also promote creative investigation of off-loom constructions, feltmaking, mixed media, and installation.

Studio work is enriched with research in the collections of the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art and the Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising. Students receive guidance in professional practices as they direct their talents toward careers in art, design, and education. CSU alumni exhibit their work regionally, nationally, and internationally; teach at public and private schools, colleges, and universities; and lead workshop programs throughout the U.S. Our alumni also jury and curate exhibitions, work as designers, and write for national publications.

The Major in Geology provides a rigorous academic and practical basis for diverse professional geosciences and other careers that include private and public sector water, energy, mineral and other natural resources, geologic hazards, resources and environmental management, and education. The major also provides a quantitative science and general education preparation for graduate studies, including hydrology, geophysics, environmental geology, economic geology, resources management, public policy, and many other areas.

The Geology curriculum encompasses a strong geosciences education within the broader framework of a liberal education. Emphasis is placed on integrating field studies in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and elsewhere with extensive on-campus classroom and laboratory work. In addition to obtaining a thorough knowledge of geosciences, students complete courses in mathematics, physical sciences, communications, and the liberal arts to develop effective quantitative, decision making, and communications skills. Four concentrations are offered to allow focus on specialized career interests: Geology, Environmental Geology, Geophysics, and Hydrogeology.

You love knowing where your food comes from. You like to understand the science and business behind raising animals. This major focuses on the study of food-producing animals with foundation courses in the sciences. You’ll choose from specialized courses to enhance your technical, practical, and business skills, and have opportunities to participate in hands-on research and experience in the field with industry professionals and animals.

The department aims to give our graduates the engineering skills to obtain leading positions in advanced technology fields.

Our Master of Engineering degree is a 30-credit coursework only degree program. The curriculum is divided into four different categories: core, foundation, depth, and breadth. The core and foundation courses are designed to develop a foundation in biomedical engineering. The depth courses allow students to gain more knowledge in a particular interest area while the breadth courses focus on advanced or applied mathematics.
