Video/Television

The BS in Video/Television gives you a more technical, specialized approach to television and video production. Courses include advanced television technologies, multi-camera production, a media production practicum, as well as a science and computer science requirement.

An INTO Hofstra International Year One program in Natural Science will prepare you to enter your next semester of a bachelor’s degree program at Hofstra University. Upon successful completion of the Pathway program and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next semester of undergraduate study at Hofstra University. Biology - Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental/Pre-Veterinary

The Bachelor of Science is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in biology and professional pursuits in the fields of biology, medicine or higher education. The BS has an options requirement – areas of specialized learning. Choose from Cell and Molecular Biology; Ecology and Evolution; Marine Biology; Pre-Medical, Pre-Dental and Pre-Veterinary Studies; and Secondary Education.

Anthropology - Archaeology
If you have an innate curiosity about human behavior, social organization, and cultural diversity, Hofstra's BA in Anthropology may be the right program for you. In addition to our concentration in Archaeology, we are one of few schools in the New York metropolitan area to offer a minor in the emerging field of Food Studies.

Japanese Studies

The BA major in Japanese provides students with a solid foundation of Japanese language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension.  In addition, through carefully selected foundational and elective courses, students gain an understanding of Japan’s literary and cultural traditions and history.  Students are encouraged to augment their study of Japanese at Hofstra with study abroad.

Computer Engineering

The BACHELOR of SCIENCE in COMPUTER ENGINEERING program is concerned with the design of hardware and software for computing devices and systems. Computer Engineering students take a rigorous set of courses in hardware and software related topics. Graduates with a degree in computer engineering typically secure jobs that involve the design of embedded systems, mobile devices, automotive sensing and control systems and biomedical devices to name a few. They are also capable of working in software roles such as software engineering and web and mobile development.

Web and Mobile Engineering

The concentration in Web and Mobile Engineering is aimed at educating students in the field of Web and mobile computer applications. This is a continually growing and changing field. Almost all computer applications must provide access on the Web and/or mobile devices. Courses in this concentration offer a hands-on approach to learning Web and mobile programming.

The BS in Mathematics is appropriate for students planning graduate studies in mathematics or professional pursuits in the field of mathematics. The BS requires the completion of one of seven tracks: mathematics, actuarial science, applied mathematics, chemistry, physics, engineering, or computer science.

The Master of Arts (MA) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Hofstra University prepares you for career advancement across a number of fields dealing with workplace productivity and behaviors, including human resources, training, management, consulting, coaching, and organization development. Research design, statistics, and psychology provide the foundation for advanced study in selection training, performance appraisal, worker motivation, and organization development. At Hofstra you will also gain valuable hands-on experience through internships at business and public agencies. Full-time students finish in as little as two years.

The Concentration in Gaming and Graphics is aimed at educating students in the design and development of video games and game engines.  This is a very exciting and growing industry. Video games have permeated all segments of population and industry from entertainment to educational. All courses in this concentration include a significant experiential component.
