Applied Physics - Biochemistry

The BS in Applied Physics allows students to combine the BS in Physics with a concentration in biochemistry, computer science, or engineering. The curriculum includes electives in humanities and social science to give the student a general background to supplement training as a specialist.

You will choose from among select courses that focus specifically on issues of race, gender, and social inequality. And because a sociologist deals with every aspect of human interaction, you will complete coursework in humanities, natural, and social sciences, obtaining a solid liberal arts education.

Computer Science and Cybersecurity

The new BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE AND CYBERSECURITY program is designed to produce graduates who are fully qualified as computer software and hardware developers, while at the same time, able to serve as information security officers, penetration testers, and network administrators. The program provides a solid foundation of computer science, emphasizing specifically the expertise in computing systems. In the Bachelor of Arts in Audio/Radio Production and Studies program, you will gain skills in the latest audio formats and programming, including podcasts and digital radio. Create a variety of news, entertainment, public service, music, and live programming, using industry-standard technology in the Herbert School's multimedia studios.

The concentration in Networking and Cybersecurity is aimed at educating students in the growing field of cybersecurity.  Security of data and computer systems is one of the most important topics in today's online world. Any application or system must have ways to prevent and protect from cyber attacks, to allow secure access and protection of data stored in distributed locations accessible online. Courses in this concentration offer a hands-on approach to learning networking, security and systems programming. All courses include a significant experiential component.

The BS in Video, Television, and Business combines an in-depth overview of television production and industry standards with coursework in legal issues, contracts, marketing, and management. If you are interested in working on the business side of media and entertainment, this program will give you the specialized skills and acumen you need to make killer deals.
