Bachelor of Science in Economics - General Economics

Illinois State University is one of only a handful of institutions that offer a terminal M.S. degree in Chemistry. Our graduate program is aimed exclusively at the master's level, and so all of the students in the graduate program enter seeking the master's degree.

The Horticulture and Landscape Management sequence includes courses in horticultural management and business operations. Graduates of the Horticulture and Landscape Management sequence are employed nationwide in the landscape design/build/maintenance, turf grass, greenhouse and nursery industries.

Global Politics is a 32-hour sequence of the master's degree in Political Science. This graduate program is designed for students interested in the increasingly interconnected politics of the modern world.

The Global Politics sequence ends in a thesis or comprehensive examination.

Majoring in history lets you dive into the topics you are most excited about. Our program offers nearly 100 courses – from the Middle Ages to the American Revolution. You’ll get the opportunity to learn in small classes from a passionate faculty.

History at Illinois State offers an Accelerated Master’s Degree (AMD) sequence. This option gives high-achieving undergraduate students the opportunity to earn a master’s degree with only one year of additional study. Once enrolled in the major, you can contact your advisor to learn more.

Art - Graphic Design
Graphic Design at Illinois State fosters a collaborative environment engaging you with print and emerging digital media. Our program prepares you to contribute to positive change for the betterment of society.

Students graduating from the Graphic Design program can pursue successful careers in client-based design or self-initiated research. You'll have opportunities to work at design studios, advertising agencies, and diverse corporations or institutions.

Our alumni continue to be a part of the Wonsook Kim School of Art after graduation and we continue to harness professional relationships and networking connections between them and our current students through social media and CrossPlatform, the Graphic Design student club.

We offer three programs in Graphic Design: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

This program is primarily oriented toward preparation for careers in professional accountancy and is designed to meet the formal requirements for a student to sit for the CPA examination. The Professional Accountancy sequence permits students to advance their knowledge in traditional accounting topics such as taxation, auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, financial management and information systems.

The Theatre Teacher Education sequence at Illinois State University is dedicated to preparing highly qualified teachers/artists to meet the challenges of education in the secondary school system.

Illinois State University is recognized nationally as the second largest producer of teachers among institutions certified by the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. Nearly one of every seven teachers in Illinois public school classrooms holds a degree from Illinois State.

The organizational leadership sequence helps students develop those skills and aptitudes necessary for success and leadership positions in business and not-for-profit organizations in the 21st century. The development of one's skills working with people and groups as well as decision making is at the focus of this program of study. Since the sequence focuses on these people skills and decision-making abilities, it is applicable to a wide or general range of companies and managers.

Organizational leadership concentrates on the knowledge and skill development to become an effective manager. Coursework provides theoretical, experiential and practical knowledge and skills relative to problem solving, decision making, behavior of people and groups in organizations, teamwork, managerial philosophy and style, organizational design, culture, and change as well as related topics.

Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) at Illinois State gives you the knowledge and tools necessary to study important issues in computer science to obtain productive employment or pursue advanced degrees.

Our program emphasizes foundational knowledge in computer science and programmatic application of fundamental concepts in leading-edge applications.

It is appropriate for a range of students, including industry computing professionals seeking career advancement, students wishing to expand on their undergraduate computer science work and/or prepare for doctoral degree, and individuals wishing to make a career change.

Construction Management
Accredited by the American Council For Construction Education (ACCE), the Construction Management major develops leaders for the building construction industry.

Through an interdisciplinary curriculum, students receive a background in:
