Theatre Teacher Education
The Theatre Teacher Education sequence at Illinois State University is dedicated to preparing highly qualified teachers/artists to meet the challenges of education in the secondary school system.

Illinois State University is recognized nationally as the second largest producer of teachers among institutions certified by the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education. Nearly one of every seven teachers in Illinois public school classrooms holds a degree from Illinois State.

Majors selecting this sequence will receive broad training in Zoology, including coursework related to organismal and functional aspects of Zoology.

This highly flexible sequence is designed for students seeking careers that involve working with animals of any kind. This sequence will also prepare students for graduate studies in Zoology and related fields (e.g., entomology, physiology, wildlife biology, animal ecology). With additional coursework, students can meet the requirements to apply to veterinary and health professional schools.

The Mathematics sequence in the Mathematics major first provides students with a strong foundation in Mathematics and then gives students the flexibility to explore various aspects of the discipline.

There is also the flexibility within the Mathematics major for a student to pursue a minor in a related field of study. Such a program can prepare students for jobs in industry and government as well as prepare students for graduate study in Mathematics.

Agriculture - Crop and Soil Science
The Crop and Soil Science sequence emphasizes the scientific aspects of agronomy including improving plant production, quality, and profit by utilizing plant genetics and breeding and improving the soil physical, chemical and microbial characteristics to enhance crop production.

Economics - Financial Economics
The Financial Economics sequence provides students training in the financial theory of the firm, financial markets and institutions to complement their training in applied economics analysis. It is designed for students who have an interest in employment opportunities in the financial sector such as investment and commercial banks, economic and financial asset management companies, and consulting firms, or who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

This is a STEM designated degree, which focuses on the systematic study of mathematical and statistical analysis of economic phenomena and problems. STEM designated degree programs offer additional benefits for students, including potential grant funded opportunities and, for international students, extended OPT study options.

Students pursuing the Master of Music in Conducting are given extensive podium time and are mentored by dedicated and active conducting faculty. Upon graduation students are prepared to:

• Seek their doctoral degree
• Conduct school, church or community ensembles
• Conduct at a community college or university

The curriculum includes:

• Applied conducting
• Analysis for conductors
• Research
• Practicum in conducting
• Electives chosen from courses like non-degree recitals, music technology, music history, music theory, music education, music therapy, music business, jazz studies, ensembles, and non-music courses

Art - Graphic Design
Graphic Design at Illinois State fosters a collaborative environment engaging you with print and emerging digital media. Our program prepares you to contribute to positive change for the betterment of society.

Students graduating from the Graphic Design program can pursue successful careers in client-based design or self-initiated research. You'll have opportunities to work at design studios, advertising agencies, and diverse corporations or institutions.

Our alumni continue to be a part of the Wonsook Kim School of Art after graduation and we continue to harness professional relationships and networking connections between them and our current students through social media and CrossPlatform, the Graphic Design student club.

We offer three programs in Graphic Design: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

As a student in our program, you'll sharpen and further develop your skills. You'll also get a deeper perspective of the criminal justice field.

Our program is designed to give you the tools you need to advance in the field and be a stand out for competitive positions. The theories and principles we cover in the classroom can be applied to your current or future role in the field.

Overall, you'll gain a better understanding of policing, courts, and corrections. We study how each entity functions and operates. We also examine how they relate to each other, society, and the world.

Classes in our graduate program are small. This lets you work closely with other professionals and students. You'll engage in meaningful discussions on all the challenges and interesting topics in the criminal justice arena. This gives you a unique academic experience and introduces you to different perspectives.

Feed your passion for science and technology. Engineering Physics at Illinois State blends a variety of subjects to find solutions for the world’s complex and technological problems. You’ll get a solid foundation in physics while taking specialized courses in engineering. This makes you valuable for STEM careers or graduate school.
