Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

The Professional Sales sequence exposes students to the latest theories and practice in sales education, research, and the profession. Students complete three required courses in marketing and two required and three elective courses in professional sales. The program incorporates existing personal selling and sales management courses, and offers several specialized classes including: Key Account and Relationship Management, Professional Sales Planning and Analysis, and Advanced Professional Selling and Negotiation.

Kinesiology and Recreation - Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiology studies how the body's structures and functions alter during exercise.

Professionals use exercise physiology principles when training clients to maximize their physical potential. Exercise Physiology students study these principles and apply them to how people acquire, use, and improve motor skill. Students also learn to use physical activity to educate individuals in health, fitness, and sport settings. At the end of the program, students may choose between completing a thesis or independent study.

The Exercise Physiology sequence prepares students to continue on to the doctoral level or enter the field. Potential career opportunities include:

At Illinois State University, we are proud to offer the Bachelor of Science in Music Business degree. The Music Business sequence exposes musicians to the vast opportunities for careers in the music industry. Students examine topics from songwriting, revenue flow, industry mechanics, and entrepreneurial practices and visit with guest speakers ranging from classical music publishers to major label A&R people, from DIY punk musicians to hip-hop producers. The program culminates in time in a local recording studio and requires an internship in the field. In addition to the core music requirements, students need to complete 25 hours of coursework in the School of Music and the nationally recognized College of Business.
