Kinesiology and Recreation - Biomechanics
Biomechanics is the study of forces and their effects on living systems.

The graduate program studies how biomechanics relate to performance enhancement and injury prevention. Students apply what they learn and serve as movement analysts in sports and workplaces. At the end of the program, they complete a thesis, independent study, or professional practice.

Depending on individual career aspirations, completion of the Biomechanics sequence prepares a student for future study at the doctoral level, for employment as a research assistant with a corporate entity, or to serve as a member of a workplace safety team.

Graphic Design at Illinois State fosters a collaborative environment engaging you with print and emerging digital media. Our program prepares you to contribute to positive change for the betterment of society.

Students graduating from the Graphic Design program can pursue successful careers in client-based design or self-initiated research. You'll have opportunities to work at design studios, advertising agencies, and diverse corporations or institutions.

Mathematics Teacher Education
As a student in the Mathematics Education program at Illinois State University, you will be challenged, tested, supported, and you will be rewarded.

You will be challenged to extend your knowledge and experience in mathematics through courses taken by students completing other sequences within the department's major, as well as through courses in education. You will become a mathematician, and you will become a teacher.

As a Mathematics Education student, you will be tested as you strive to meet the standards of excellence established for those becoming mathematics teachers.

Managerial Economics goes beyond the limits of traditional economics and business majors, blending a thorough grounding in economic theory with business knowledge and applications. Students in the Managerial Economics sequence receive in-depth training to economics and quantitative methods, problem-solving strategies, critical thinking and effective communication skills.

Studio Arts Expanded Media
The Wonsook Kim School of Art offers a comprehensive list of sequence options for a student interested in Studio Arts. The following are offered as areas of specialization: Ceramics, Drawing, Expanded Media, Glass, Printmaking, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Video, and Wood / Metal Design.

Following a first year foundations curriculum, students can choose a sequence within an individual studio. Within each sequence, faculty are actively engaged in introducing students to various technical skills and ideas specific to that discipline. The cohesive sequencing of courses within each studio area allows the student to build skills and knowledge towards a highly sophisticated level of work in that field of exploration.

It is designed for students who have an interest in employment opportunities in the financial sector such as investment and commercial banks, economic and financial asset management companies, and consulting firms, or who are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. degree.

This is a STEM designated degree, which focuses on the systematic study of mathematical and statistical analysis of economic phenomena and problems. STEM designated degree programs offer additional benefits for students, including potential grant funded opportunities and, for international students, extended OPT study options.

Marketing - Professional Sales
The Professional Sales sequence exposes students to the latest theories and practice in sales education, research, and the profession. Students complete three required courses in marketing and two required and three elective courses in professional sales. The program incorporates existing personal selling and sales management courses, and offers several specialized classes including: Key Account and Relationship Management, Professional Sales Planning and Analysis, and Advanced Professional Selling and Negotiation.

With emphasis on extensive training in econometrics and forecasting, exposure to working with large and diverse data sets, and a wide range of statistical software, this program gives students the applied skills that employers demand and provides those pursuing advanced degrees an edge in gaining admission to top Ph.D. programs.

The Applied Economics sequence is designed to train students in the quantitative and applied economic skills that will best enhance their future employment opportunities as economists, research analysts, or planners in the private and public sectors. While the curriculum is structured as a terminal degree in applied economics and many graduates have advanced to doctoral-level programs in economics and in related disciplines, the program is also well suited for individuals who wish to return to school to obtain a graduate degree in a business-related discipline for the purpose of career advancement.
