Statistics is the science and art of making inferences from data, under conditions of uncertainty. The practice of Statistics requires not only the understanding of the statistical techniques, but also understanding of the problem requiring statistical analysis, whether it is in the liberal arts, the sciences, health sciences, or business.

The Statistics sequence has an interdisciplinary component so that this program will help develop skills in the application of Statistics to a variety of disciplines.

Marketing - Integrated Marketing CommunicationThe Integrated Marketing Communication sequence allows students to focus on the coordination of all aspects of marketing communication such as advertising, sales promotion, public relations, and direct marketing, in an effort to provide a consistent message to consumers. Students complete three required courses in marketing and two required and three elective courses in integrated marketing communication.

Not only are a significant number of marketing students interested in the IMC fields, the area offers a wide range of professional opportunities, with strong growth projections. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts 12 percent job growth for marketing managers from 2012 to 2022. The median salary for marketing managers was $127,130 in 2014, according to the BLS.

Agriculture - Pre-Veterinary Medicine
This sequence prepares students for entry into schools or colleges of Veterinary Medicine. The program of study includes Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math courses. Graduates of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM may find career opportunities in clinical practice, with government agencies and in private industry.

Network and Telecommunications Management
Network and telecommunications systems are the backbone of the information age. They include systems we use every day, such as the internet, text messaging, and watching TV. Their main goal is to send a message from one point to another without losing or changing the message.

Professionals in the field design and manage networks. They keep up with technology trends and adapt networks to meet current needs.

The Network and Telecommunications Management major studies the theory and application of cutting-edge technology. We also cover policy issues dealing with data, image, video, and voice delivery. Understanding these policies is essential when designing and managing networks.

German
The German major offers courses in literature, culture, and language within a setting that stresses frequent and informal interaction of students with faculty and with visiting German students on campus. Students can study literary greats from Goethe to Kafka, examine fairy tales or popular song texts, and learn about the latest developments in the European Union. Honors students and students who are merely interested have deciphered letters written by 19th-century German immigrants; and all are welcome at weekly informal gatherings where our local German students often form bonds with visiting students from Germany.

Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at Illinois State University is one of the largest undergraduate chemistry programs in the nation. The department is consistently among the top producers nationally in number of Bachelor of Science graduates earning the professionally certified American Chemical Society degree.

Information Systems - Systems Development
Systems Development is a master's sequence in Information Systems. The program is designed for students who are interested in integrating existing technologies to help businesses better manage their information. Most students choosing this sequence plan to pursue further studies in Information Systems or work as a programmer-analyst, systems developer, or project manager.

FDM courses include Textiles, Fashion Trend and Industry Analysis, Advanced Textiles, Clothing and Behavior, Economics of Fashion, Apparel Product Development, Apparel Product Analysis, and Fashion Promotion. Within the FDM program, you can select from two different emphasis options:

• The Fashion Merchandising option which includes additional courses in retail buying
• The Fashion Design and Product Development option which includes additional courses in draping and flat pattern making

As an FDM student, you'll also have the opportunity to participate in study tours both inside and outside the United States. Students have visited corporate offices and manufacturers from New York City to California, as well as in Europe and Asia.
