The Early Childhood Teacher Education program at Illinois State will prepare you for a professional educator's license for teaching programs serving children birth to age 7 (grade 2). FDM courses include Textiles, Fashion Trend and Industry Analysis, Advanced Textiles, Clothing and Behavior, Economics of Fashion, Apparel Product Development, Apparel Product Analysis, and Fashion Promotion. Within the FDM program, you can select from two different emphasis options:

• The Fashion Merchandising option which includes additional courses in retail buying
• The Fashion Design and Product Development option which includes additional courses in draping and flat pattern making

As an FDM student, you'll also have the opportunity to participate in study tours both inside and outside the United States. Students have visited corporate offices and manufacturers from New York City to California, as well as in Europe and Asia.

Mathematics - Statistics
Statistics is the science and art of making inferences from data, under conditions of uncertainty. The practice of Statistics requires not only the understanding of the statistical techniques, but also understanding of the problem requiring statistical analysis, whether it is in the liberal arts, the sciences, health sciences, or business.

The Theatre Studies major provides you with a broad-based, hands-on education in theatre within the context of a liberal arts degree. After completing a strong core of theatre courses, you have the flexibility to choose specialty courses based on your interests and career orientation in the following areas:

• Creative drama and puppetry
• Integrated performance
• Theatre management
• Film studies

You’ll receive a well-rounded educational experience, from academic pursuit in history, criticism, dramaturgy, and theory, to creative participation in the performing arts.

The criminal justice program at Illinois State examines policing, courts, and corrections. We do this with a social science point of view. As a student, you'll explore human behavior and take an in-depth look at the issues and circumstances that lead to crime. This gives you a well-rounded perspective and prepares you to be a leader for positive change.    

You'll also gain all the skills you need to be successful in your career. We'll teach you how to interview, develop programs, promote community well-being, and analyze crime hotspots.

 The Risk Management and Insurance major at Illinois State University is a premier, nationally known program that prepares students for a number of different careers in insurance and risk management. The major prepares students to manage a variety of traditional and emerging risks, as well as explore different treatment options including the use of insurance and other risk transfer solutions.
