International Year One in Engineering will prepare you to enter your next term of a bachelor’s degree program at Oregon State University. Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is the design, construction, and maintenance of public works, including roads, bridges, harbors, etc. At Oregon State University our programs in civil engineering prepare students to become working professional civil engineering and academic researchers who study civil engineering problems. Our civil engineering undergraduate program offers a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree where students receive general instruction in all disciplines, with the option for additional elective courses in desired areas.

International Year One General will prepare you to enter the second year of one of OSU's many undergraduate degree programs. Upon successful completion of International Year One and meeting university requirements for undergraduate admission, you may enter your next term of undergraduate study at Oregon State University. Crop Science and Soil Science
Want to get your hands dirty while making a difference? Our students work on solving the most complex agricultural and natural resource problems faced in Oregon, our nation and across the globe. Students who want to make a measurable difference in our communities are perfect candidates for a degree in either crop science or soil science. Graduates of our program, in demand across the United States, typically have several job offers by the time that they graduate.

The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering offers three graduate degree programs, Master of Engineering (MEng), Master of Science in Civil Engineering (M.S.), and  Doctorate in Civil Engineering (Ph.D.). Students can focus their work in different areas of civil engineering and make use of specialized facilities to complete their work.

A balanced diet is one of the most powerful ways to get and stay healthy. It can even help manage diseases such as diabetes and reduce the risk of others, including heart disease and osteoporosis. In our program, you’ll take a holistic look at nutrition. You’ll explore the various nutrients in food and learn about the behaviors and social factors behind the dietary choices we make. You’ll get up close and personal with macro and micro nutrients, create healthy meals using local ingredients, learn how food can help prevent chronic diseases and have the chance to advise people across the lifespan who want to improve their overall health.

Business Administration
The business administration degree provides students with a broad overview of business; basic skills in accounting and quantitative methods; an understanding of the legal and social environment of business; a background in management and organizational behavior, marketing, finance, and operations management; an understanding of the entrepreneurial process; and the opportunity to integrate course work and further develop decision-making skills through the analysis of business cases.

Environmental Sciences
The Environmental Sciences Graduate Program provides curricula leading to M.A. M.S., Professional Science Master's (PSM) and Ph.D. degrees in environmental science. The curricula integrates thinking across disciplines, especially life, physical, and social sciences. Environmental science explores natural processes on earth and their alteration by human activity.

Oregon State University has exceptional strength in many of the disciplines, including science, agriculture, forestry, engineering, public health, liberal arts, social science, and oceanography and atmospheric science. Strength in these disciplines allows the ES graduate program to provide high-quality interdisciplinary education for environmental scientists and continuing postgraduate educational opportunities to scientists who are already active in the field.

Master of Science in Business

The Department of Botany and Plant Pathology offers graduate programs leading to M.S. degrees that prepare students for a variety of future employment opportunities. Our graduates are employed in both the public and private sector by local, state, national or international employers.

Human Development and Family Sciences
Learn to empower individuals, families and communities to survive and thrive. Explore how individuals develop and become resilient over time — particularly within the contexts of family, school, work and society. Consider how difficult environments, such as living in poverty, can make lives and relationships more challenging. Few careers offer as many opportunities to directly and profoundly impact lives. With an HDFS degree, you’ll be ready for rewarding professional work or graduate study in fields such as education, HDFS, social work or public administration.

The goal of the finance program at OSU is to prepare students for careers in institutional finance, which includes careers in banking, brokerage, insurance and other fields. Within the lending area, finance majors can specialize in installment credit lending to consumers of durable goods, mortgage lending to home builders and buyers, or commercial lending to help finance the growth of businesses. Men and women entering the securities industry find careers as stock and bond brokers, security analysts or portfolio managers. Individuals choosing the area of insurance typically enter company operations through either claims or underwriting positions.
