The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Plant Systems has four tracks; students in the Controlled Environment Agriculture track cultivate technologies to efficiently produce plants and plant-based products. Environmental engineering students learn ways to minimize pollutants and waste and protect the earth's resources. Environmental engineers develop methods for clean manufacturing, wastewater treatment and water purification, alternative energy, and sustainable building. Students earning their Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering at the University of Arizona work under the umbrella of the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department, gaining in-depth knowledge of process engineering for transforming waste into useful products and cleaning up contaminants in soil and groundwater. Students learn to appreciate the relationship of dramatic text to theatrical production; understand the working practices and standards of the professional theatre; communicate artistic intent through acting, directing, design and research; and learn how to organize resources to facilitate the theatrical production process. Coursework stresses critical thinking in verbal and written communication; employs theatre as a lens through which to examine cultural trends; encourages students to develop projects that merge theory and practical applications; and explores the vitality of theatre as a communal expression of gender and cultural diversity.

Enhance your love of all things French with greater language proficiency and deeper engagement with the French culture. Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in French can opt for two areas of focus. The Language, Literature and Culture emphasis is ideal for students who are considering graduate studies in French or who are interested in achieving a high level of competency in the language. Courses are taught in French by the department's esteemed scholars in French and Francophone language. Students are encouraged to study in Paris as part of a study abroad program that is among the best-established programs at the University of Arizona. In addition to learning to communicate fluently in French, students strengthen their skills in reading, writing, critical thinking and analysis.

A Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Analytics and Technology prepares students for careers at the intersection of science, technology and analytics. Microbiology is the study of microorganisms and the role they play in human, animal and plant health. This Bachelor of Science offers students a base in modern biology, specifically how microorganisms interact with their surroundings. Coursework includes food safety and consumer health; plant pathology and microbiology; environmental microbiology; microbial genomics and biotechnology; and medical microbiology. Students research microbes such as bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa and touch on subjects such as bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, immunology and microbial genetics. This program cultivates students' expertise in preparation for highly specialized professions from biotechnology to medical science.

The Illustration and Design emphasis of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art encompasses a diverse faculty with expertise in graphic design, illustration, letterpress, book arts, visual narratives, animation, motion graphics, information design, and interdisciplinary collaborations with the environmental sciences. These specializations are reflected in a broad array of curricular offerings, including field trips, team projects with community clients, internships and study abroad. Through an exploration of the relationship between authorship, personal expression, visual problem-solving and communication, students develop a body of self-authored work consistent with the breadth of the expanding profession.
