Overview
Examine the social dimensions of health and health care in directly applicable ways, making for an impactful career within a helping profession. The Care, Health and Society major equips students who plan to pursue careers in medical professions and offers a broader perspective of how health care integrates within the context of social interaction, social institutions and social structures. This interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science incorporates coursework from the social sciences, science and humanities, and offers a fully online option. The program complements training in public health and front-line health care careers, providing students with the toolkit necessary to address persistent population health issues, inform public health initiatives and combat barriers to health care delivery. Students obtain analytical, organizational and advocacy skills for the helping professions.

Optional Practical Training or OPT is a period during which students, who have completed their degrees in the USA, are permitted to work for one year on a student visa by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OPT allows students to work for up to 3 years and develop real-world skills to survive in the competitive jobs market.
It is temporary employment for a period of 12-months that is directly related to the major area of study of an F-1 student. Eligible students have the option to apply for OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies and/or after completing their academic studies.
A student can participate in three types of Optional Practical Training (OPT):

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance is a professional degree that provides students with technical training and performance experience. The program's triple-track design means students can study ballet, modern and jazz with equal emphasis. Students approach the study of dance as an art form and also as a means to understand society, history, the human body and other areas of scholarly endeavor. The core curriculum includes history, research in world dance, biomechanics, improvisation, choreography, music, musical theatre vocal training, production, and career planning. When music informs everything you do from who you are to what you love embark on a degree that sets you up for success in the field of music performance and advances your euphonium skills. Students earning the Bachelor of Music in Performance with an emphasis in Euphonium can take advantage of the Fred Fox School of Music's two concert bands, a select wind ensemble, two jazz bands, numerous jazz combos and a large and challenging orchestra program. In addition to these performance opportunities, students benefit from personalized attention and instruction. This includes a weekly lesson, a studio class, daily warm-ups and technique classes, plus ensemble and chamber coaching. The School of Music averages between 450 and 550 students, which provides opportunities that are typically only offered at larger schools of music.

If you're interested in tackling big-picture issues and policy when it comes to health concerns, consider the Public Health major's Health Systems Theory and Practice emphasis. Corporations, organizations, governments and communities need public health leaders to focus on planning, management and administration. The University of Arizona's Bachelor of Science with a major in Public Health is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The Health Systems Theory and Practice emphasis is one of several concentrations within the major. Students wishing to choose a Thematic focus will be required to explain to faculty what the topic area is and why it doesn't align with the current emphases, as well as support the objectives of their coursework. As with the other emphases, research and independent study can be used for up to six of the 15 credits required to complete an emphasis.
