A unique balance of psychology and science will give you a distinctive edge and prepare you for a wide variety of graduate school programs.
In this program, you will study psychology alongside biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, making this an ideal first step into further studies in a variety of experimental psychology settings, neuroscience, health fields, and scientific research.

You will work closely with faculty to develop an avenue of career possibilities. First, you select a concentration option – pre-medical or graduate school – allowing you to adapt your curriculum to your career goals and interests.

You will also learn to conduct professional-level research, completing an independent research project your senior year. During your time in the program, you can further enrich your education with internships in research, legal and educational settings; or study abroad anywhere in the world.

The M.S. in User Experience and Interaction Design is an 18-month to two-year on-campus program made up of 31-37 credits, depending on an applicant’s qualifications upon entering the program. This program is designed to prepare working professionals and recent college graduates to expand their careers into the rapidly moving fields of User Experience Design (UX) and Interaction Design (IxD).

What is User Experience & Interaction Design?

The role of User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design (IxD) expands as digital technology allows for more and more innovative applications. We must create aesthetic, engaging and dynamic experiences for users to interact with in order to take full advantage of current and future technologies, and immerse users in media. For these reasons, a M.S. in User Experience and Interaction Design degree prepares graduates with the necessary skills to evolve the standards of communication and interaction.

To compete in today's growing market, professionals must have the tools necessary to approach each task effectively, including practical interactive knowledge, technological skills, development, production and post-production knowledge, visual communication skills and information literacy.

The Master of Science Program in Pharmacology prepares graduates for positions in:

Graduates have been accepted into PhD and professional degree programs.
The MS Pharmacology Program also offers a track in Human Investigation. This track is for residents and fellows doing post-graduate clinical training.

Students applying to the Program should have taken undergraduate general and organic chemistry courses and at least one biology course. An undergraduate biochemistry course is strongly recommended, but not required.

The program may be completed on a part-time or accelerated (coursework) schedule over a period of 1.5 to four years. Courses are offered late afternoon/early evening and meet once per week, allowing students the flexibility to work while taking classes or devote their full attention to their studies. Flexibility is the key.

The M.S. in Taxation Program at Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University) is geared toward practicing accountants in the fields of public, corporate, and governmental accounting as well as lawyers, financial managers and planners who need extensive information and formal study in taxation. The program prepares students for professional tax practice whether they are earning their degree, expanding their expertise on a specific topic, or taking courses to maintain their CPA license. We offer full-time and part-time options to accommodate work schedules and to allow students to earn their degrees rapidly.

The faculty includes partners and managers from national, regional, and local CPA firms, noted tax attorneys, and specialists in many areas such as financial planning and state and local taxation. They work for highly visible national and regional firms, and bring an exceptional standard of practice and expertise to the classroom.

Students in the program learn state-of-the-art online research methods that will help them stay current with a wide range of tax authorities throughout their careers. The Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) offers a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, which is nationally accredited through the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Students develop competencies in several key public health areas: health behavior and social sciences, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, policy and advocacy, program planning, implementation and evaluation, and others. The interdisciplinary curriculum stresses leadership skills, systems thinking, health communication, global health, and cultural humility and competency. JCPH also offers a Graduate Certificate in Public Health, which provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills for public health practice.

Public health professionals track disease outbreaks, conduct community health assessments, plan health education programs and direct campaigns to reduce risk factors that foster chronic health conditions like heart disease and diabetes. They develop and advocate for policies, both public and private, that reduce harmful environmental exposures and that provide increased access to preventive health services for underserved populations. Many engage in public health research and support multi-cultural global health initiatives here and abroad.

Public health professionals take the lead in local, state and federal health agencies, community health centers and hospitals, non-governmental health organizations (NGOs), schools and universities, professional health agencies, health insurance companies and other related businesses.

Program Audiences

Public health students come from a variety of fields and have included:

• Recent college graduates with majors in natural or social sciences, including pre-med or other pre-professional students seeking an educational experience during their gap or glide year
• Not-so-recent college graduates with relevant work experience wishing to enhance their health-related career or make a career change
• Students currently enrolled in a professional program (medicine, law, pharmacy, social work) who wish to earn an additional degree in public health as part of a dual degree program
• Health or related professionals working in government, community health organizations, non-profits, healthcare settings, health insurance companies, the pharmaceutical industry and academic institutions

The Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling MS program will provide students integrative education and training to become compassionate and knowledgeable genetic counselors.

Learning Outcomes

• Jefferson College of Life Sciences launched our MS program in Human Genetics & Genetic Counseling, in the Fall of 2017.  
• Employment of genetic counselors is projected to grow 21% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are only 48 graduate genetic counseling programs in the country.  Placement of a new genetic counseling program within the rich clinical and health science environment of the Jefferson enterprise would provide students significant competitive advantage.
• The learning outcomes for our program are based on the 2019 Practice-Based Competencies for Genetic Counselors set forth by the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling:

Our mission is to prepare students to be leaders in the real estate profession and to address the significant built environment challenges of the 21st century: sustainability, gentrification, poverty, the decline of brick and mortar retail and the shifts in demographics. Students will learn to address economic, social, and ecological issues when developing commercial, industrial, institutional, mixed use and residential real estate development projects. Philadelphia provides examples and case studies for much of the curriculum, but national and international examples are also investigated.

By focusing on the quadruple bottom line of real estate development and combining environmental sustainability, social consciousness, design excellence, financial feasibility and economic viability, students gain first-hand experience how real estate development invigorates communities and shapes healthy places to live, work, and play. Using the greater Philadelphia area, as a living laboratory, students learn to approach projects at various scales, ranging from single buildings to entire districts or neighborhoods.

Students have the option of taking classes in person at our East Falls Campus in Philadelphia, or take part in an online, low residency cohort. This cohort meets in person once a semester with other MSRED students and faculty in Philadelphia or another city in the region, while fulfilling all other requirements in a live online learning environment. Students in both programs have the opportunity to network with industry professionals, tour real project sites and neighborhoods, and learn from guest speakers through lectures, conferences and seminars
