The Patel College of Global Sustainability seeks to ensure that the concepts, principles, definitions, models, and applications of “sustainability” are progressively expanded at the University of South Florida (USF) and beyond; we encourage the natural interconnections among those units on campus addressing ecology, economics, policy, politics and culture; we recognize the essential contributions of scholars and professionals in engineering, business, architecture, urban planning, geosciences, health, global studies and the natural and social sciences; and, we aspire to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, fulfilling the social, economic and environmental requirements of present and future generations.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers an MA degree in Statistics. The major provides the experience and knowledge to understand and appreciate prior accomplishments in the discipline and develops the skills necessary for a meaningful contribution to the intellectual advancement and applications of the discipline. It prepares its graduates to pursue long-term careers in their field by providing solid and cutting-edge knowledge.

Public Health
USF offers the first Bachelor’s in Public Health housed in its accredited College of Public Health in Florida. The Bachelor of Science in Public Health provides the student-centered courses required for entry-level public health jobs found in government agencies, health corporations, community non-profit organizations and healthcare facilities.

Many USF music alumni are currently performers in a variety of concert settings and successful teachers in public schools, colleges, and universities around the country in a variety of concert settings. The Master of Music degree provides students with an opportunity to pursue intense, focused study in their music specialty, coupled with a vigorous, balanced curriculum in music theory, music literature, and electives. Students in this major are mentored expertly by senior faculty and exhibit mastery of their specialty at the end of the course of study by way of appropriate capstone experiences, including recitals or theses and comprehensive examinations. The provisions and balance of these experiences comport precisely with the curriculum guidelines required by the National Association of Schools of Music.

Biomedical Sciences
The Biomedical Sciences degree serves as a gateway into a variety of health-professional programs such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physician Assistant. Required courses include Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics. This degree provides the flexibility to choose advanced-level science coursework based on academic and professional interests. Students contemplating graduate study should pursue a major in the discipline of their interest, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.

Marketing
Marketing is a dynamic field with many dimensions, including product selection and planning, product distribution, pricing and promotion. Marketing poses many challenges and yields generous rewards for those who meet these challenges. Marketing operations are carried out domestically and internationally in all business organizations that offer a good or service. Many marketing concepts are applicable to the operations of non-profit organizations such as governmental, educational, and healthcare institutions, as well as charitable and political campaigns. Marketing operations provide the most visible links between the firm or institution and its many publics. Marketing deals with people who are constantly changing in their needs, wants, and desires; and coupled with these changing tastes is a fiercely competitive environment sustained by all the resources of a rapidly evolving technology. These forces lead to much of the challenge and dynamic nature of marketing.

The Marketing program prepares students for initial entry and management positions in many areas of marketing with a curriculum that is concerned with:

• Understanding how to attract and retain customers;
• Having the ability to find and analyze information;
• Being able to design, collect, and analyze marketing information to be used in managerial decision making;
• Using digital and traditional media to reach customers;
• Having personal communication skills that businesses demand;
• Being capable of writing an actionable marketing plan;
• Understanding and being able to apply the latest marketing concepts, including marketing automation.

The Philosophy program at the University of South Florida aims to produce teachers and scholars with a deep understanding of philosophy and a broad knowledge of its history. We welcome a diversity of approaches to the study of philosophy, including analytic, continental, historical, literary, and multicultural. Above all, we seek to prepare our students to make contributions in their areas of expertise and to become responsible members of the philosophical community.

The M.A. in Applied Mathematics provides the experience and knowledge to understand and appreciate prior accomplishments in the discipline and develops the skills necessary for a meaningful contribution to the intellectual advancement and applications of the discipline.   It prepares its graduates to pursue long-term careers in their field by providing solid and cutting edge knowledge, as well as a technical education enabling them to take on leading positions in a modern economy. Examples of careers employing the applied mathematics knowledge include, for example, Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, Cybersecurity Specialist, Software Developers, Economist, Civil Engineer, Actuary, and many others.

An INTO USF Graduate Pathway program in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology will prepare you to enter your next semester of a master’s degree program at University of South Florida. Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology (MSPN)-M.S.
The Master of Science degree in Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology is designed to train students in the skills they will need to understand the burgeoning technological advances in science at the nanoscale and how new nanomaterials and processes can be applied to drug delivery, diagnosis, treatment monitoring, tissue regeneration, personalized medicine and more. Nanopharmacy and nanomedicine is a unique interdisciplinary science that integrates the knowledge of natural sciences and engineering with Pharmacy and medicine to develop nanopharmaceuticals.
