Music Performance with a concentration in Performance
The Music Performance degree is a professional degree for students who wish to pursue a career in music. Students interested in a B.M. degree may choose between concentrations in: Performance, Composition, Jazz Studies and Acoustic and Electronic Music. This degree program requires 120 credit hours of study that include private study on the student’s principle instrument and participation in ensembles. Additionally, students complete music theory, history and literature sequences, and take additional coursework in their chosen concentration. Graduates from BM programs at USF find themselves in very competitive positions for graduate study and musical careers. Admission into the BM in music degree requires an audition on your major instrument.

Humanities and Cultural Studies with a concentration in Humanities
The Humanities program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that investigates the visual arts, music, and literature, and the cultures from which they emerge.

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology provides students with the skills and knowledge needed in the wide variety of agencies that comprise the criminal justice system, these include law enforcement, detention, the judiciary, corrections, juvenile justice, probation and parole. Also, the undergraduate program prepares criminology students to pursue a graduate degree in Criminology or related disciplines. The undergraduate program in Criminology introduces students to the theory, issues and methodology of the causes of crime and the criminal justice system. The program provides students with the critical thinking skills necessary for the consumption and production of criminological research. Upon graduation, students must be able to delineate the main theoretical explanations of crime and delinquency, demonstrate knowledge of research methods used in the fields of criminology and criminal justice, and provide an understanding of the structure and process of the U.S. system of criminal justice.

Electrical Engineering-M.S.
The faculty of the Electrical Engineering Department at USF takes great pride in providing a high quality education to our more than 400 graduate students and invites you to consider joining us in advancing the frontiers of knowledge. Our student body is diverse, our research spans experimental and theoretical studies of many fundamental areas of electrical engineering, and we enjoy strong partnerships throughout industry and with prominent national laboratories and federal agencies. Most importantly our graduate students benefit from the dedicated, personal guidance of our faculty.

The faculty of electrical engineering hails from some of the finest institutions in the country, and includes NSF CAREER Award winners, Fellows of the IEEE and AAAS, Distinguished University Professors, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. Many serve in national leadership roles in technical societies such as the IEEE, have industry experience to complement their academic backgrounds, and lend their expertise to federal agencies such as The National Science Foundation and The National Institutes of Health. Some are very entrepreneurial and have founded spin-off companies based on their research. This diversity of experience enriches the learning and experiences of our students.

Chemistry
The Chemistry B.A. gives students exposure to analytical, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry while providing the flexibility to take additional elective courses. Students interested in professional, law, or graduate school or those who anticipate working in careers related to secondary education or business will find this degree attractive. The B.A. student whose goals include graduate study should supplement this curriculum by addition and/or substitution of a selection of advanced courses from the B.S. program. The Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry provides opportunities for curricula individually tailored to meet many career objectives.

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Business Analytics and Information Systems (BAIS) meets the needs of the marketplace for expertise in analytics, information technology and management. Highly qualified individuals with motivation for leadership in information technology and analytics are encouraged to apply for admission to this program. The major meets the needs of organizations in information services, software development, management consulting, and other sectors wherer data analytics is used in industry. An Advisory Board consisting of senior business analytics and information systems executives works closely with the department to ensure that the program stays relevant and maintains high standards.

The major is offered in two forms – an on-campus option and an executive/professional option.

The on-campus option is designed to allow students a traditional classroom experience.  While most courses are offered face-to-face, some sections may be offered virtually.  Students will work with faculty to design the most effective course sequence and optional thesis/practicum /independent studies to meet the major curriculum requirements and accomplish their career goals.

Alternately, the online executive/professional option is intended for full-time working Information Technology/Information Systems/Business professionals who will pursue this degree while remaining employed. The executive/professional option is offered on a cohort basis with a pre-determined set of courses and independent study options selected by faculty based on market needs and student profiles. Students will benefit from an accelerated curriculum with a managerial and leadership approach. To get the full benefit, applicants are expected to have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.

Biomedical Sciences
The Biomedical Sciences degree serves as a gateway into a variety of health-professional programs such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physician Assistant. Required courses include Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics. This degree provides the flexibility to choose advanced-level science coursework based on academic and professional interests. Students contemplating graduate study should pursue a major in the discipline of their interest, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.

Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering program emphasizes the application of engineering principles to the design of computer hardware and software, and devotes additional time to computer architecture and advanced topics in hardware design, including extensive laboratory work. Students in this program also acquire a broad background in engineering topics through related coursework in the College.

The curriculum in Art History reflects the belief that a traditional liberal arts program, supplemented by travel, is the best preparation for students who wish to teach the history of art at the college level or work in museums and galleries. Students will not specialize in a particular area such as Renaissance or Modern, but will acquire a general knowledge of the history of art. All Art History majors are required to take at least one 4000-level non-Western Art History course. Courses in areas such as history, philosophy, and literature are recommended as electives, both as supplement to undergraduate courses in art history and as a background for future graduate work. Art History majors are required to take courses in studio art as a means of better understanding what is involved in the art making process. It is important that students make every effort to travel to major museums in this country and, if possible, abroad.
