The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers an MA degree in Statistics. The major provides the experience and knowledge to understand and appreciate prior accomplishments in the discipline and develops the skills necessary for a meaningful contribution to the intellectual advancement and applications of the discipline. It prepares its graduates to pursue long-term careers in their field by providing solid and cutting-edge knowledge.

International Year One General will prepare you to enter the second year of a bachelor's degree program at the University of South Florida. After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter your next semester of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression.

Psychology
 The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology offers students a well-rounded liberal arts education, relevant to many areas of study both inside and outside of the social and behavioral sciences. The program provides excellent training for qualified students who wish to pursue graduate work in such disciplines as Clinical, Cognitive and Neural Sciences or Industrial Psychology, Education, Gerontology, Counseling, Management, Medicine, Law, and other human service programs. The undergraduate program emphasizes the breadth of psychology while allowing students electives to pursue a particular aspect of the field in-depth.

The M.S. in Applied Aging Sciences familiarizes students with important questions and challenges relevant to older Americans, providing applied, interdisciplinary approaches and solutions. The program trains students to recognize that there are multiple perspectives on virtually all issues that confront individuals working in the field of aging, and to gain key skills in multidisciplinary gerontology. Graduates of the program possess the education and training necessary to staff, consult with, and lead the expansion of institutional and community-based programs, government agencies, and private sector initiatives that serve older adults in Florida, the nation, and the world.

The Patel College of Global Sustainability seeks to ensure that the concepts, principles, definitions, models, and applications of “sustainability” are progressively expanded at the University of South Florida (USF) and beyond; we encourage the natural interconnections among those units on campus addressing ecology, economics, policy, politics and culture; we recognize the essential contributions of scholars and professionals in engineering, business, architecture, urban planning, geosciences, health, global studies and the natural and social sciences; and, we aspire to create and maintain the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, fulfilling the social, economic and environmental requirements of present and future generations.

World Language and Cultures with a concentration in Classics
The Bachelor of Arts in World Languages and Cultures offers students a solid foundation in language and linguistic skills, as well as knowledge of diverse cultures. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to interact and participate in a global environment.

Physics
The B.A. program is designed for students who are not currently planning to attend physics graduate school and/or who want to pursue parallel studies in other fields such as mathematics, biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, business, pre-med, pre-law, and teacher education.

The field of learning technology is growing rapidly in higher education, industry, and k-12 settings. Nearly all major companies, government agencies, school districts, and universities and colleges, are actively recruiting their own learning technology experts. The M.S. in Learning Design and Technology has a foundation in E-learning with focus opportunities. The major is designed to provide a comprehensive curriculum and intensive training to prepare students for the job market of today and emerging fields of tomorrow in K-12 schools, higher education, industry, and military or other governmental agencies where the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of online learning, game-based learning, cybersecurity education, and learning analytics take place.

The M.S. in Exercise Science provides and in-depth study of applied human physiology and how it relates to athletic performance and health and wellness. The purpose of the program is to prepare fitness professionals that are equipped to meet the needs of adults in their pursuit of improved health and performance. Exercise science professionals work with adults in leadership positions in areas such as strength & conditioning, worksite health promotion, commercial and community fitness/wellness, hospital/clinical rehabilitation, personal fitness training, and sports performance. In addition, graduates of this program will have the educational background to pursue doctoral education and other advanced degree programs. The major offers three optionsExercise Science, Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength & Conditioning, and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health & Wellness.

The M.A. in Applied Mathematics provides the experience and knowledge to understand and appreciate prior accomplishments in the discipline and develops the skills necessary for a meaningful contribution to the intellectual advancement and applications of the discipline.   It prepares its graduates to pursue long-term careers in their field by providing solid and cutting edge knowledge, as well as a technical education enabling them to take on leading positions in a modern economy. Examples of careers employing the applied mathematics knowledge include, for example, Data Analyst, Financial Analyst, Cybersecurity Specialist, Software Developers, Economist, Civil Engineer, Actuary, and many others.

The Biomedical Sciences degree serves as a gateway into a variety of health-professional programs such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Physician Assistant. Required courses include Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Physics. This degree provides the flexibility to choose advanced-level science coursework based on academic and professional interests. Students contemplating graduate study should pursue a major in the discipline of their interest, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology.
