Focused on culturally competent school counseling and social justice, the School Counseling, M.S. helps you become a compassionate, effective advocate for the academic, social, and emotional success of pre-K–12 students.

You’ll gain a broad foundation on prevalent topics in school counseling today, including leadership, group counseling, working with special needs students, college counseling, and school violence prevention. You’ll also acquire the critical experience you need through a practicum and internships under the mentorship of a tenured school counselor in a pre-K–12 school setting.

We also offer a Bilingual Extension, which can be completed simultaneously with your school counseling degree. The extension includes a minimum of six additional credits, as well as bilingual practicum experience to prepare you to work specifically with bilingual/ELL students and their families. NYSED certification will require documented proficiency in the target language by independently passing the New York State Bilingual Assessment (BEA).

What You’ll Learn

In our Physics, B.S. program, you'll learn the advanced mathematical skills you'll need to analyze complex physical systems and solve tough problems in physics and other quantitative fields like data science and finance.

• New York Tech’s five-year B.Arch. program is a rigorous, professional, studio-based program designed to enhance your unique talents and abilities through learning-by-making, using advanced architectural technology and up-to-date design and fabrication strategies.
• You’ll tackle increasingly complex and technically demanding challenges in areas such as building design, community and urban design, and comprehensive design, with an emphasis on sustainability.
• Tailor your degree by taking experimental courses, participating in summer programs working side-by-side with renowned architects and researchers, and completing a one-year research and design thesis on a complex architectural and design topic of your choosing.

What You’ll Learn
The M.Arch program at New York Tech helps you develop a critical understanding of historic and contemporary practices, cultures, and movements in the industry, preparing you to become a visionary leader and problem solver.

The program has two options:

• A two-year professional degree track for those with a pre-professional degree in architecture
• A three-year professional degree track for those with a bachelor’s degree in another area

Both options offer opportunities for travel abroad studios, workshops, and summer and semester programs at New York Tech’s international university partners in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Throughout your program, you’ll engage in experimental, innovative challenges in areas including digital design and fabrication, advanced architectural technology, and environmental urbanism.

What You’ll Learn

• With the Architectural Technology, B.S.A.T., your curriculum will encompass architectural design, building technology, environmental systems, and project management using advanced software and tools. You can also opt to further tailor your degree by pursuing a concentration in Construction Management.
• During your first two years, you will study the foundations of architectural history and building construction while developing expertise in design analysis, drafting, and 3-D design skills. During your third and fourth years, you will work intensively toward the completion of a capstone project incorporating all aspects of a building’s design and architectural technology.
• You’ll gain the critical experience you’ll need to stand out to employers through national and international design workshops, collaborative projects within the community, onsite construction observation, and summer study abroad in canonical cities around the world.

Gain the visual UX/UI design strategies and digital development skills to plan, design, and develop human-friendly interactivity for web, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), voice user interface (VUI) and other applications.

What You’ll Learn
The UX/UI Design and Development, M.A., is a one-year program where you’ll learn how to strategize, design, and develop user experience/user interface in industries ranging from entertainment and media production to aerospace, architecture, medicine, and more.

In the Information Technology, B.S., you’ll learn to design, implement, and evaluate computer-based systems and programs to solve an organization’s challenges. You’ll learn from full-time faculty and have the opportunity to work alongside them on research projects funded by the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and more. Many students publish their research in recognized journals under the Undergraduate Research & Entrepreneurial Program (UREP).

What You’ll Learn

• The Computer Science, B.S. with a concentration in Network Security allows you to focus on network infrastructure and network security aspects, preparing you to handle IT security infrastructure challenges for businesses around the world.
• You’ll study a variety of topics such as defense-in-depth, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography, and virtual private networks. You’ll also complete a substantial project that demonstrates the full extent of your technical skills and knowledge, in addition to its economic, societal, and ethical impact.
