The department offers a bachelor's degree in human services. The field of human services is a growing professional field. There is increasing demand for human service professionals in the field of child, adult, family and community services in various human service organizations and settings. Human Service professionals work with diverse populations providing a wide variety of social, personal, and health services depending on the need of the individual, group or community. Accordingly, the Human Services degree at Rowan University offers three unique concentration areas: direct care/direct services, administration, and criminal justice. Each concentration area is a total of 9 credits. Students also gain valuable experience during their field internship where they get course credit working at local human service organizations. Field internships allow students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real life experiences.

Public relations practitioners create strategy and content to manage an organization’s reputation and tell its story to audiences. Classes simulate real-world challenges as you work with real clients and participate in problem-solving competitions.

A  full range of theatre and dance production opportunities complements coursework and allows students to develop performance and production skills by creating live theatre.  All students may participate in the department's annual faculty-directed mainstage and/or student productions. These projects provide students with practical experience as performers, directors, designers and technicians, and enhances skills learned in the classroom.

Concentration in Musical Theatre

Far more than memorizing capital cities and place names on a map, geography is an engaging field that has a wide diversity of specializations that provide outstanding preparation for high-demand and rewarding careers in environmental management, spatial analysis and sustainability. The common themes that unite all geographers are the scientific exploration of the earth and spatial analysis. One branch of geography focuses on people (human geography) and the other branch focuses on the environment (physical geography). There are multiple sub-disciplines within the field that cover everything from geology and climatology to demography and planning.
