The specialization in Information Systems, a STEM program, is designed to provide the student with the background to perform the functions necessary in business information processing and management. In addition, the student can acquire sufficient knowledge so that he or she will be able to assume supervisory responsibilities in an information systems environment and lead strategic initiatives using information technologies for competitive advantage.

Sport Management
The undergraduate Sport Management program at AUM will assist students in preparing for sport-related careers.  A combination of sport related coursework and business class work will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the sport industry.  The courses focus on the uniqueness of sports in areas such as marketing, facility management, risk management and legal issues, leadership, ethics, etc.  An internship is required.

They do this by cleaning up contaminated areas, making policy recommendations, or working with industry to reduce pollution and waste. Soil and plant scientists, and ecologists often work in remediation efforts, for a sanitation company, in manufacturing, at a university, or for a not-for-profit organization. Other environmental scientists are engaged in environmental policy, planning, and management for local governments, performing research-intensive work. Some professionals in this field have careers at the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Park Service, the United States Geological Survey and other agencies.

They also use what they learn to make recommendations and develop strategies for managing environmental problems. From wading through swamps studying the impact of encroaching human populations on endangered species, to monitoring pollution levels in lakes and rivers, graduates of AUM’s Environmental Science program get the training needed for a fascinating and rewarding career.

The General Biology concentration prepares students for a wide range of jobs and post-graduate options, including graduate school, health professions, and others. It is an excellent choice for students who know they want to study biology but are not certain what their ultimate goal may be.

Educated individuals who have an understanding of the global diversity existing in the corporate world today are valuable participants in global business ventures. Today companies need individuals who can understand how to work within a setting surrounded by different languages, and who can take into account the broader perspective of trade regulations of different governing bodies. The BSBA integrated curriculum helps students to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the environmental aspects of international business in a variety of contexts, including socio-cultural, political, financial, and economic.
• Critically synthesizing, analyzing, and interpreting data to use in effective decision-making.
• Gain an understanding of the international dimensions of business functions, including marketing, finance, management, and operations.
• Critically analyze and communicate complex business issues in multinational markets.

If you want to spend your life immersed in the world of history, art, and culture, major in Art History within the Fine Arts Department. In AUM’s interdisciplinary Art History program, you’ll be introduced to the history of Western Civilization through an examination of images, artifacts, buildings, and works of art. Our program offers courses on art from the Ancient world to the Contemporary and encourages students to consider works of art and architecture as dynamic objects that reflect the cultural and social history of the time in which they were made. You’ll also be trained in highly desirable, transferable skills prized by employers, such as visual literacy, critical thinking, primary research, and effective written and oral communication skills.

The importance of marketing is amplified by the fact that marketing activities consti­tute one-half of the total cost of an average product and that a marketing orientation is linked with the purpose of any business or organization; that is, serving customer needs. The program of study in marketing provides the knowledge students need to successfully create customer value in a dynamic environment. Creating customer value requires a balance between thinking logically and creatively, and the marketing special­ization challenges students to do both. Students also have opportunities to develop interpersonal and communication capabilities, and valuable skills in demand by local, national and international employers.

The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies is a distinctive degree plan designed to serve students with unique needs or academic interests. The Environmental Health and Toxicology concentration in the Environmental Science bachelor’s degree program prepares students to look at their environment critically and assess how changes to their environment can affect their health and the health of their environment

Students in grades 6 through 12 need committed educators dedicated to enriching their lives and helping them master the secondary school curriculum. You’ll get a dual degree: one in your content area of expertise — English, math, history/social science, or science— and one in Secondary Education. An internship will give you practical experience in the classroom.

A Secondary Education English Language Arts degree prepares students to teach in the area of English, Theatre, Communication, and Journalism at the middle, junior, and senior high school levels (grades 6-12).
