Most of the prerequisite courses come from chemistry, physics, and mathematics, the courses needed for the chemistry major. Sport Management
The undergraduate Sport Management program at AUM will assist students in preparing for sport-related careers.  A combination of sport related coursework and business class work will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the sport industry.  The courses focus on the uniqueness of sports in areas such as marketing, facility management, risk management and legal issues, leadership, ethics, etc.  An internship is required.

A Secondary Education General Science degree prepares students to teach general science courses in the areas of chemistry, earth and space science, physics, and biology at the middle, junior, and senior high school levels (grades 6-12).

Environmental scientists use their knowledge of earth’s systems to protect the environment and human health. They do this by cleaning up contaminated areas, making policy recommendations, or working with industry to reduce pollution and waste. Soil and plant scientists, and ecologists often work in remediation efforts, for a sanitation company, in manufacturing, at a university, or for a not-for-profit organization. Other environmental scientists are engaged in environmental policy, planning, and management for local governments, performing research-intensive work. Some professionals in this field have careers at the Environmental Protection Agency, the National Park Service, the United States Geological Survey and other agencies.

Environmental scientists are problem solvers. They research environmental and health problems to determine their causes and come up with solutions. They also use what they learn to make recommendations and develop strategies for managing environmental problems. The Exercise Science program is a dynamic and exciting major preparing students for careers in human performance, training and conditioning, corporate fitness and wellness.  Clinical and preventive areas of preparation include cardiac rehabilitation, pre-physical therapy and health promotion.  The AUM Exercise Science program is an educationally recognized program (ERP) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) for its outstanding program leading to careers in athletic strength conditioning. An internship is required.
