Our Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology gives students a strong foundation in structural and evolutionary developmental biology, physiology, organismal diversity, physical oceanography and ecology.

Civil engineering is one of the oldest of the engineering disciplines. It involves the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings, highways, railways, bridges, airports, seaports, and other structures of modern society. Given the global need for rebuilding, maintaining and further developing infrastructures, the demand for civil engineers has never been greater. Our civil engineering graduates can choose from a broad spectrum of career opportunities in industry, government and private consulting.

The Bachelor of Business Administration degree prepares graduates to think critically, solve problems and lead with confidence. This broad-based program teaches important business fundamentals across environments and industries both in the U.S. and globally. You'll learn how goods and services are produced, financed and marketed; the impact of external forces on business success; basics of accounting and quantitative methods, plus an introduction to organizational theory and communication and leadership decision-making.

Finance
Students will learn how money is raised and invested, how to manage a company's financial resources, and gain an understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, investments and financial institutions. You’ll acquire the background to handle an array of financial challenges including the impact of interest rates, be able to perform risk analyses, know how to determine the value and return of investments, and grasp the regulatory environment. Students who graduate with the finance major are prepared to enter positions in corporations, financial institutions, brokerage firms, investment banks, and government. They also are prepared for post-graduate study in all areas of business.

Our Bachelor of Arts in Women's and Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary study of women and gender in cross-cultural and historical perspectives. You'll explore how women's lives have been shaped by history, culture, nationality, class and other elements of diversity.

There are two tracks available in the upper division program for B.S. in Computer Science. The Computer Science (CS) track should be followed by the student who intends to continue on to graduate study in computer science. The Software Design and Development (SDD) track may be followed by the student who intends to pursue a software engineering career. This section explains the requirements for the Computer Science track.

FIU’s Bachelor of Science in IoT will transform a student into a technological expert who can manage, program, maintain and secure IoT devices in many critical areas such as energy, transportation, health, aviation, infrastructure and hospitality. This program will provide expertise in the following four pillars: hardware, software, wireless communications and cybersecurity & privacy.

Geared to train students for jobs in areas such as data security, systems security management and network threat analysis, FIU’s cybersecurity degree programs prepare students to work on solutions to high- tech 21st century problems, such as how to safeguard devices, software and data from cyber threats as well as protect power grids from hackers.
