• Secondary Education: You want to teach English. Prepare for classroom certification through the English secondary education concentration while you participate in courses that expand your mind and your world.

This curriculum is diverse with opportunities to study forest management of hardwood and pine forests, wetlands, wildlife, conservation biology, fisheries, aquaculture, habitat management, or prepare for a career as a wildlife-oriented veterinarian. Curricula emphasizes field instruction. Unique facilities available through this curriculum include the School of Renewable Natural Resources’ Lee Memorial Forest, an actively managed forest, which has accommodations and teaching facilities so that you can get hands-on experience in the field.

Wildlife Ecology: With this concentration, you will study a broader range of wildlife than other specializations, including recreationally and culturally important game species and ecologically important non-game species. Most students in this area intend to pursue advanced degrees.

In this major, you can study political topics ranging from healthcare reform to international diplomacy. Through this exploration, you will develop knowledge and analytical skills that can help you succeed in a career in public policy, city management, and law.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Asia: The concentration in Asia focuses on the religion, politics, history, art, and literature of South and East Asia. This is a huge and diverse region encompassing the majority of the world’s population. The region includes important industrialized economies such as Japan, newly prosperous states like Korea, and nations undergoing or poised for rapid economic growth such as China and India. With such economic importance and potential, and a number of unresolved territorial disputes, U.S. policy has recently begun to pivot towards a greater focus on Asia.

The Bachelor of Music prepares you for a career as a professional musician or composer. It also serves as the gateway to graduate-level studies in music.

Digital Advertising

If you’re more interested by Cirque du Soleil than Broadway, this concentration may be for you. Combining athleticism and theatrical presentation, training ranges from aerial work to contact improvisation.

The child and family studies undergraduate degree at LSU combines elements of psychology and sociology with an applied focus that prepares students for an array of human services professions across the lifespan. • Global Cultures: The concentration in global cultures includes arts, folklore, religious practice, and literature from cultures around the world, with an emphasis on the sharing of cultures across regions through migration, colonialism, and diasporas. The concentration draws heavily on anthropology and literary analysis to provide a vocabulary for the study of culture. It also examines how identities are created, maintained, or changed in a global world.
