It’s one of only a handful of programs in the country with an affiliate professional theatre, Swine Palace, which enables you to work alongside leading professionals while earning your degree.

Performance
A concentration in theatre performance prepares you to enter a graduate program or pursue a professional career in theatre, film, television, and related fields. Aspiring actors immerse themselves in a variety of performance disciplines including in-depth, sequential training in stage movement/physical theatre, voice, and acting.

Turn your passion into your career. Here, you will be able to take electives from multiple areas of business to craft a degree that suits your specific or varied interests within business. You will gain valuable insight and basic knowledge in key areas of accounting, economics, finance, information systems and decision sciences, management, and marketing as you build a customized curriculum that makes sense for your career goals.

Learn about the properties and composition of matter and the interactions and alterations of substances. Chemistry is at the core of most scientific disciplines, including the study of polymers, biotechnology, pollution control, and energy. There are nine available concentrations, which will allow you to narrow your focus to the career track that works best for you or help you prepare for graduate study. 

Environmental Chemistry
Recommended for students pursuing careers as a chemical professional or for entrance to graduate study in chemistry, this area focuses on the study of the sources, reactions, transport, effects, and fates of chemical species in the air, soil, and water environments.

If you want to work behind the scenes (and sometimes in front of the camera) in the sport industry, then this is the major for you. Sport administration is designed to teach you the fundamentals behind managing the complex and ever-changing sport industry. You will get real-world experience and may one day become commissioner of the NCAA.

Sport Leadership
A concentration in sport leadership teaches leadership roles within athletic fields. Whether it’s coaching or motivating others to succeed, this will make you a better leader on and off the field.

Learn the math and theory behind modern-day computing, develop and hone your programming skills, and then use computers to solve problems in almost any industry. Computer science involves programming computing devices, creating information systems, engineering new products, visualizing and creating imagery, working with data infrastructure and networks, and protecting information through cybersecurity Concentrations include cloud computing and networking, computer science and a second discipline, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, and software engineering. Many graduates go on to become software engineers/developers, but other job titles include cybersecurity specialist, network designer, entrepreneur, web developer, and more.

Electrical engineers are primarily concerned with the generation, control, transmission, and distribution of electric energy, signals, and information. This may be on a large scale, such as designing a more reliable power grid, or a small scale, such as developing components for a new medical device or cell phone. Graduates could design power systems in Baton Rouge, work on flight control systems in San Diego, help maintain an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, or work at a software company in Silicon Valley.

In this program, you can expect to gain a wide-ranging view of world issues while focusing on a particular geographic region or areas such as global diplomacy. In international studies, you will also have opportunities to participate in study abroad programs and develop in-depth knowledge of the languages and cultures of your chosen area.

• Global Studies: The concentration in global studies is a very broad concentration covering any topics which fall across multiple regions of the world. Much of international relations, global climate concerns, third world development, world population and globalization fit under this concentration.

This program will provide you with the knowledge and skills to participate in the environmental community in areas such as federal and local environmental regulations, land use planning, soil and water conservation, coastal restoration, and agricultural management.

Find great adventure in anthropology at LSU. Areas of study include archaeology, cultural anthropology, folklore, physical anthropology, and anthropological linguistics. You can participate firsthand in meaningful research, ranging from studies of contemporary communities to archaeological digs, that can have a real impact on the world.
