By applying the fundamentals of their discipline (reactions and separations), chemical engineers design, install, and complete the processes for efficient production of materials, as well as tailor the properties of materials for specific applications. With these skills, chemical engineers may help make microprocessors for Apple, controllers for Ford, and laundry detergent pods for Proctor & Gamble. Computer science involves programming computing devices, creating information systems, engineering new products, visualizing and creating imagery, working with data infrastructure and networks, and protecting information through cybersecurity Concentrations include cloud computing and networking, computer science and a second discipline, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, and software engineering. Many graduates go on to become software engineers/developers, but other job titles include cybersecurity specialist, network designer, entrepreneur, web developer, and more.
