Management will help you explore the many facets of organizational behavior, industrial and labor relations, as well as an appreciation and understanding of global management practices, among others. You can pursue these areas further through the human resource management concentration, international management concentration, or strategic leadership concentration.

Study ways to improve crops and discover new crossbreeds of plants, and learn the latest approaches to the cultivation, marketing, and processing of ornamental plants, fruits, and vegetables. Topics include soil science and conservation, ornamentals and grasses, urban landscape management, sustainable horticulture, and much more.

Horticulture Science: Horticulture is the science and art of cultivation, propagation, marketing, and processing of ornamental plants, flowers, vegetables, fruits, and nuts. Horticulture is unique among plant sciences because it also incorporates art and the principles of design. With opportunities such as internships, hands-on learning, and faculty-led research, you will gain valuable experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.

Actuarial Science
About two-thirds of all actuaries work for life, health, and property/casualty insurance companies. Actuarial responsibilities in these fields generally include making sure that companies properly define and carefully evaluate the insurance risk, charge a fair price to assume the risk, and have an efficient system to pay claims and expenses as they occur while operating profitably as a business.

Interior designers create functional and visually appealing indoor environments. They shape, organize, furnish, and adorn the insides of buildings to reflect our personal and cultural aspirations. Today’s interior designers do not simply decorate. They work on wide range of interiors, from residential to corporate projects, designing spaces within new buildings and finding ways to adapt and re-use existing structures. If this sounds like your idea of heaven, then interior design may be for you.

Industrial engineers are engineers with a business flair who enjoy working with people. They apply engineering design to create and improve systems that deliver products or services. They strive to improve the productivity of their organizations and respond to changing customer needs and wants quickly and constantly. For instance, an industrial engineer may be involved in designing a new production plant for a car manufacturer (a product) or in designing an effective emergency room for a hospital (a service). In designing these systems, an industrial engineer integrates equipment, materials, energy, information, and people together to meet business objectives while ensuring product/service quality and reliability, the safety and satisfaction of customers and employees, and the effective and productive use of resources.

The versatility of industrial engineers allows them to engage in activities that are useful to a variety of businesses, governments, and nonprofits. For example, industrial engineers engage in supply chain management to help businesses minimize inventory costs, conduct quality assurance activities to help businesses keep their customer bases satisfied, and work in the growing field of project management as industries across the economy seek to control costs and maximize efficiencies. With skills that can be applied to almost any industry, industrial engineers can work in almost any field and at any type of organization/company.

Secondary Education
This area of concentration allows you to pursue an undergraduate degree in mathematics and earn a secondary teaching certificate at the same time though the LSU GeauxTeach Math & Science program.

Learn the math and theory behind modern-day computing, develop and hone your programming skills, and then use computers to solve problems in almost any industry. Computer science involves programming computing devices, creating information systems, engineering new products, visualizing and creating imagery, working with data infrastructure and networks, and protecting information through cybersecurity Concentrations include cloud computing and networking, computer science and a second discipline, cybersecurity, data science and analytics, and software engineering. Many graduates go on to become software engineers/developers, but other job titles include cybersecurity specialist, network designer, entrepreneur, web developer, and more.

Design/Technology
Design/technology offers you a full complement of specialized courses, combined with practical experiences through design and technical production assignments for the School of Theatre, as well as Swine Palace, LSU’s affiliated equity theatre.
