A major in history is one of the most flexible liberal arts degrees you can obtain. In addition to history, you’ll learn critical reading, writing and thinking skills that prepare you for any position requiring research, writing and analysis. You will learn to examine historical forces, people and events from multiple perspectives and with global awareness, all while honing your communication skills.

The emphasis of the Master of Science in Biology degree program is to develop practical research and professional skills and a thorough conceptual foundation in biological science. The program is course-based and includes a one-semester research experience. Students who are prepared for additional research training may pursue a master’s thesis under the sponsorship of a department faculty member.

This computer science program follows an enhanced traditional curriculum, with its emphasis on data, data theory and computing systems theory. Political science is the study of the collective decisions that shape our common fate. Political scientists study topics including the outcome of elections, the acquisition and exercise of power, the causes of war, the design and function of electoral systems; the history of political thought; the adoption and implementation of public policies; the comparative efficacy of political systems around the world; the operation of legal systems, and many more.

Music education students at CCPA come from all over the world to experience Chicago and develop their music teaching practice. Students enroll in degree plans with a choral or instrumental focus but all music education majors develop well-rounded knowledge and skills through methods courses in general music, choir, band, and orchestra as well as techniques and conducting courses.
