The University of Dayton School of Engineering chemical engineering program is one of only a few universities in the nation involved in the modeling, control and automation of composite processing.

As a UD Nursing major, you'll prepare to be a knowledgeable, adaptable and reflective healthcare practitioner. The program is a unique partnership with Sinclair Community College’s Associate Degree in Nursing program — top in Ohio for success of its graduates on the NCLEX nursing exam. This partnership allows students to become a registered nurse (RN) after their third year, and if they desire, work while finishing the BSN program at UD.

The curriculum incorporates both liberal arts and science courses, which help students develop clinical reasoning and intuition. You'll apply evidence-based practices to impact change in health practices both locally and globally. The program integrates Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) Core Competencies, the Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice (The BSN Essentials), and the UD Marianist educational philosophy of educating the whole person.

The Industrial Engineering Technology program prepares students for management and engineering positions in manufacturing and service organizations such as healthcare, banking and finance, transportation, retail, and government. Graduates may be involved in supply chain management, data-driven economic decisions, planning and scheduling of work methods and expected output, quality assurance, optimization of facilities layout and processes.

As an industrial engineering technology major at University of Dayton, you will develop engineering skills through industry-sponsored projects and experiential learning opportunities. With our small class sizes, faculty members with real-world engineering experience, and well-equipped laboratories, we utilize hands-on learning to equip students with applied engineering knowledge and skills that will help you to minimize waste, improve efficiency and make things better. Graduates from our Industrial Engineering Technology program typically go into careers as an industrial engineer, manufacturing engineer, quality engineer, project engineer, continuous improvement engineer and safety engineer.

The criminal justice studies major is individualized and students choose the justice path that is right for them. The program is an excellent academic home for students interested in law and legal careers, intelligence, forensic psychology, federal law enforcement, probation and work with at-risk populations in the community.

Recent graduates are employed as scientists in academia, industry and government, or pursuing postgraduate education. In addition to our rigourous academic program, students can work side-by-side with faculty on research projects such as discovering novel inhibitors of bacterial efflux pumps as a way to combat multi-drug resistance in bacteria, studying biodegradation of polymer coatings, and discovering new photodynamic lung cancer treatments.

Our students are immersed in a challenging academic experience that combines theory and practice. You begin in the classroom learning the foundations of biology, but quickly find yourself discovering antibiotic-producing bacteria, wading through wetlands, exploring behavioral neuroscience, analyzing real-time physiological data collected on classmates, or studying patterns of evolution in fruit flies.

Our students develop professional skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to provide effective and compassionate therapy for individuals of all ages. Graduates are prepared to assess client needs and design and facilitate individualized therapeutic music experiences in composing, listening, improvising and performing. An integral part of the curriculum is supervised clinical service to individuals and groups in a variety of community settings, including skilled nursing care, early intervention programs, substance use rehabilitation and special needs classrooms.

You'll be enrolled in a specially designed seminar course that offers an introduction to the division, its faculty, curriculum, opportunities for graduates, and the various policies and procedures necessary for the successful student to follow. This seminar provides information on cooperative education and internship opportunities, as well as extracurricular options. The classes are small, and the attention is as individual as needed. With the help of this seminar, along with the assistance of your knowledgeable adviser, you will discover the area of engineering technology that's right for you.

As a UD Dietetics major, you'll thrive in an environment where hands-on learning, professionalism, leadership, and evidence-based practice are at the forefront. Students are mentored and taught by faculty who are registered and licensed dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) to support your growth and development, both in and out of the classroom.
